Ron Killings Shoots Down Metro Boomin’s Offer to Produce a New WWE Theme Song

Metro Boomin’s name has been brought up recently as someone new to produce theme songs for WWE. While it’s seemingly all been social media speculation so far, the 31-year-old is doing everything he can to replace Def Rebel. In his most recent attempt, Boomin tagged R-Truth on social media and was shocked at the man now known as Ron Killings’ response.

Ron Killings Wants to Keep His Current Theme Song

After a heartfelt promo on Monday Night RAW, R-Truth transformed himself into the man he’s always been inside, Ron Killings. The WWE Universe used their voice to get Truth back into the company, but it’s clear that things are going to be different this time around for Killings. With his sights likely set on John Cena, or even Triple H, Killings decided that it’ll be best for him to keep his current entrance music.

“I appreciate you my dawg!! Huge fan!” Killings said. “What’s up ain’t broken, I wanna keep it, Fans and people know it soon as it hits!!” At the end of his post, Killings added, “R-Truth ain’t drivin now.. I am.”

Boomin may have been shocked at the rejection, but it makes complete sense. WWE loves to redo a wrestler’s theme song if they undergo a major character change, but Killings doesn’t want to hide from who he was in the past. A change in song could not only confuse viewers but erase everything that R-Truth did in the past.

Killings was polite in dismissing Boomin’s offer, but there’s still a chance that he’ll get to work on theme songs one day soon. Triple H has yet to comment on his status with the company, but WWE fans would gladly welcome the change, as many are sick of the basic and cliché themes that Def Rebel has produced for some of the company’s top stars.

After shocking the world by cutting his hair on Monday Night RAW, it’s clear that Killings is all in on being his true self. This is a chance for the 53-year-old to change course and be a top act in the company, something that he hasn’t had the chance to do as he has been a comedy character for a while.

Even though he lost at Saturday Night’s Main Event, Killings was still able to get a singles match on a major show for the first time in years. It was a step in the right direction, and now his complete character change is only going to help him become a top star on the RAW brand.
