Roman Reigns To Star Alongside Jason Momoa in Major Hollywood Project

WWE Superstar Roman Reigns has his next film project in the pipeline. This time, he will star alongside the behemoth Hollywood actor Jason Momoa.

Roman Reigns and Jason Momoa in the ‘Street Fighter’ Live-Action Feature?

“Deadline” has reported that Legendary Pictures is eyeing four noteworthy names to star in the live-action Street Fighter movie. They are Andrew Koji (of Bullet Train fame), Jason Momoa (A Minecraft Movie), Noah Centineo (Warfare), and Roman Reigns (Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw).

The feature is based on the Capcom video games, which also serves as co-developer and co-producer.

The Street Fighter video games were launched in 1987. They revolve around a global fighting tournament organized by M. Bison, the leader of the evil organization Shadaloo. The fights are one-on-one between martial artists, each with a peculiar character. The series has sold over 55 million units worldwide since its launch nearly four decades ago.

As for Reigns, he has previously worked alongside his cousin Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw and in the feature, The Wrong Missy. Reigns is repped by Bad Toro and Torres Benet.

Reigns Experienced His Biggest Setback at This Year’s WrestleMania

A modern-day legend in the pro-wrestling business with a remarkable 1,316-day reign as Undisputed WWE Champion, Reigns was always booked as a near-invincible wrestler. However, he failed to win the Triple Threat main event of WrestleMania 41 Night One.

This time, it was unlike any other loss he had taken before in his career. He and Seth Rollins joined WWE’s main roster in 2012 and have been the pioneers of the era that followed. An argument can be made, though, that Rollins often played second fiddle to Reigns.

All of that changed at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas last month, as Rollins defeated Reigns and CM Punk in the main event. The Visionary has since joined forces with the Tribal Chief’s former Wiseman, Paul Heyman, and their newest recruit, Bron Breakker.

Rollins’ win over Reigns was symbolic, as it put the former World Heavyweight Champion back on top of the division. Even during his reign as the top title holder two years ago, it was the Tribal Chief who stood atop pro-wrestling royalty.

On the Raw after WrestleMania, Reigns attempted to get back at Rollins and Heyman, but he was humbled yet again. He has not been seen in WWE ever since. Even though there were rumors that Reigns would be back for Money in the Bank on June 7, there have been no signs of that happening.

It remains to be seen when and where the Tribal Chief of WWE returns and how he plans to get back at the Wiseman after the jaw-dropping betrayal at the Showcase of Immortals in April.
