One of the biggest superstars in WWE’s current era, Roman Reigns, is heading to WrestleMania 41 with a thrilling triple-threat match against Seth Rollins and CM Punk. It’s arguably the second most talked-about booking after the John Cena vs. Cody Rhodes storyline.
From fans to wrestling veterans, many have been putting forth their thoughts about the OTC and the possible outcomes of his much-anticipated match. Amid the speculation, a WWE Hall of Famer has taken some time to heap praise on the former Universal Champion.
Bret Hart Considers Roman Reigns One of the Greatest Wrestlers
Professional wrestling today includes long and intensive stories that make the matches entertaining and engage the fans emotionally. Yet, many, including the wrestling legend Bret Hart, criticize current professional wrestling for prioritizing TV promos over real in-ring action.
Earlier this month, when he was asked if he still watches wrestling, the veteran replied that he tries to catch the pay-per-views and also presented his views on modern-day wrestling, criticizing modern superstars as “actors pretending to be wrestlers today rather than actual wrestlers.”
But despite being a big critic, The Hitman respects some wrestlers, including Reigns. The WWE Hall of Famer believes the 90s were the best era in professional wrestling, and seeing the Tribal Chief perform, he feels a little nostalgic about those times, as he believes the former Undisputed WWE Universal Champion is more realistic and credible than most of his colleagues.
The former WCW Champion recently appeared on the “Rosenberg Wrestling” podcast and was asked about the top 4 greatest wrestlers of all time.
One name he mentioned was his famous rival ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, with whom he had his legendary match at WrestleMania 13, being the first match to be inducted under WWE’s new category ‘Immortal Moments’ in 2025.
Another name Hart included in his list is Roman Reigns. Here’s what the WWE Hall of Famer had to say about The Tribal Chief:
“When I watch a lot of the younger guys or the guys that have come up, I see that sort of erratic kind of panic sometimes, where they rush into stuff. But when I see Roman Reigns wrestle, he’s always in control. He’s always very calm,” Hart said.
Roman Reigns Set to Headline the First Night of WrestleMania 41
Reigns is, without a doubt, one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, and he is set to compete in what many are calling the greatest triple-threat match of all time. This will be the tenth time the OTC will close the Show of Shows, a feat that most wrestlers can only dream of. However, this time his Wise Man will not be on his side.
It will be interesting to see if Reigns can dominate his bitter rivals, CM Punk and Seth Rollins, and walk out with Paul Heyman victorious on Night 1 of WrestleMania 41 to further cement his name as the greatest.
