There is one mystery competitor in the King of the Ring tournament, but the WWE Universe has already speculated about their ideal finals. With four different Fatal Four-Way matches set to take place over the next few weeks, a pair of singles matches in the semi-finals will then decide who faces off at Night of Champions. Whoever wins at Night of Champions is the 2025 King of the Ring and will then have a World Title match at SummerSlam.
WWE Universe Wants Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton
Sami Zayn was the first competitor to advance to the second round of the King of the Ring tournament, with him facing either Randy Orton, LA Knight, Aleister Black, or Carmelo Hayes in the semi-finals. On the other side, many top stars are competing, including the likes of Cody Rhodes, Damien Priest, Sheamus, and Bronson Reed, among others.

At this point in the tournament, the WWE Universe has made up their mind as to what final would be most intriguing to them. This user asked, “Are they doing Randy vs. Cody in the finals!!??” with another chiming in, “Cody vs. LA/Randy at finals seems like it.”

It’s hard to bet against Rhodes at this point, as The American Nightmare pinned John Cena in the main event of Money in the Bank. With the KOTR winner getting a title match at SummerSlam, this could be Rhodes’ path to a rematch.
“I’m guessing Cody?” one fan questioned. This fan added, “Sami and Cody finals” with the notorious Kurt Angle screaming gif. WWE having two of their top babyface acts in the finals would be quite an interesting decision, but whether it’s Cody vs. Sami or Cody vs. Randy, both of those options are on the table for Saudi Arabia.

Two fans speculated the same for the mystery competitor: “Hoping Ilja comes back but he’s expected back around September” one said as another crossed their fingers with the post “Dragunov.” In terms of the mystery opponent that will be revealed in Green Bay, WI, next week, one fan asked, “Would they dare send El Grande Americano to Saudi?”
With Gunther winning back the World Heavyweight Championship on RAW, Sami Zayn remains a viable challenger to his championship on the red brand. Sheamus would be a fantastic matchup as well, knowing their history with the Intercontinental Championship.
Orton already had his chance at John Cena, and he’s had a history with Gunther in the past. LA Knight has been long overdue for a title opportunity, but he has his work cut out for him in this tournament, especially after he attacked Breakker on RAW. Rhodes remains the easiest and most logical option, as pointed out by the WWE Universe.
