Peter Dinklage Faces Backlash From Ex-WWE Star On Snow White Controversy: “F*cking Hate Him”

There has never been a shortage of clashes between pro wrestlers and Hollywood stars. Sometimes these arguments are just part of a wrestling storyline, but other times they spill over into real life. A few years back, rapper Soulja Boy and Randy Orton argued over whether pro wrestling was real or not.

Three years ago, a former WWE star took issue with comments made by Peter Dinklage about Disney’s Snow White remake. The feud might have faded from headlines, but recently, the wrestler took another shot at Dinklage.

What Did Hornswoggle Say About Peter Dinklage?

In 2022, Peter Dinklage appeared on Marc Maron’s podcast and criticized Disney’s plans for a live-action remake of Snow White. He called it a “backward story of seven dwarves living in a cave.”

Former WWE star Hornswoggle, also known as Swoggle, didn’t like those comments then and is still upset now. Speaking on the Insight with Chris Van Vliet podcast, Swoggle didn’t hold back.

“F–k you Peter Dinklage, piece of s–t. F–ing hate him. He costed so many people in my community jobs with that Snow White bull—-, it p–ses me off,” Swoggle said. “I think he wanted to make a statement and thought he was being cool, but he wasn’t. When he did Elf, that check cashed just fine. Tyrion Lannister was a role for a little person, and he cashed that check for years.”

Swoggle added that he isn’t trying to take on roles meant for someone like Brad Pitt. “I’m okay not going out for Brad Pitt’s role. Give me Grumpy or Happy or Sleepy. Major Disney remake? Yeah! Then you’re gonna have seven dwarves, then there are extras, then there’s stunt doubles that all get paid. And he f*cked it,” he said.

Dinklage’s comments caused a lot of buzz in Hollywood when he made them. Disney later said they would handle the dwarfs in a new way. They decided to fully animate the characters and cast non-dwarf actors except for one, taking jobs away from actors in the dwarf community.

How Did WWE Help Hornswoggle Become Larger Than Life?

Hornswoggle first appeared on WWE TV in May 2006 on an episode of SmackDown. Back then, he was known as the “Little Bastard” and managed Finlay.

He became Hornswoggle later and went on to win the Cruiserweight title in 2007 at the Great American Bash. He was part of several memorable storylines and stayed with WWE until 2016.

In 2022, while talking about Dinklage’s comments, Swoggle shared how WWE’s need for a leprechaun character helped him live his dream.

Talking to Daily Mail in 2022, he said, “When I grew up, all I wanted to do is be a professional wrestler and work for WWE. When I was 19, they were casting for a leprechaun: a person of my stature to be on-air talent. I could never in a million years have gotten a job with WWE as one of their main superstars, I am not six foot, I’m not 250 pounds, but this role as the leprechaun was made for me.”

“For 10 years, I got to live my absolute childhood dream as Hornswoggle the leprechaun on WWE,” he said.

After leaving WWE in 2016, Swoggle has popped up occasionally on WWE TV and has been active on the independent wrestling scene. It’ll be interesting to see if his latest comments about Dinklage get a response from the Emmy-winning actor.
