One of the biggest names in women’s wrestling, Mercedes Moné (fka Sasha Banks in WWE), compared herself to the famous singer Beyoncé. But this statement has sparked buzz among fans who are taking to social media to show their disagreement.
Mercedes Moné Compare Herself to Beyoncé
Moné lost her NJPW Strong Women’s Championship to NZM at Resurgence last week. However, she has set her eyes on the AEW Women’s Championship match at the upcoming AEW All In Pay-Per-View. Recently, while speaking to Denise Salcedo of “Instinct Culture,” Moné shared how she would feel if she becomes the new champion: “I can feel the emotions right now. I feel like I’m about to cry, but I’m going to save that for Texas. Really, that’s what I’ve been dreaming about; main eventing All In.”
She then brags about her greatness and compares herself to singing icon Beyonce: “I put women’s wrestling on the map. To do that in Texas, well, I am the Beyonce of wrestling, and I cannot wait to show everybody not only my gear, my outfit, my look, just the match alone.”
Fans React to Former WWE Star Mercedes Moné’s Interview
Moné shared her emotional thoughts, comparing herself to Beyoncé, but many fans online didn’t seem to agree.
One user questioned her statement, “What does that mean?”
Another agreed but mocked both by calling them overrated:
Agreed
Both highly overrated

Her statement seemed to make no sense to some, and one user wrote,, “Wel seeing as Beyoncé has nothing to do with wrestling, her statement makes no sense.”
One fan didn’t hold back and called her a liar, “she a damn liar 😂.”
However, some also came to The CEO’s defense. One fan strongly agreed with her, “Mercedes Mone calling herself the Beyoncé of wrestling isn’t delusion it’s facts. Not just the looks, but the dominance, the reinvention, the aura And she’s not wrong she def has that Star power, work ethic and influence. she did not stutter!!”

Moné had a successful run in WWE but parted ways with the company in 2022. One fan mentioned it in their comment, “I can actually get behind that. Even though I still hate on her cause she turned down WWE.”
While fans are criticizing her statement, much like Beyoncé, Moné is also a well-known name in her industry. She could earn the chance to take her legacy to the next level by winning the AEW Women’s Championship at All In. However, her road to becoming champion won’t be easy, and it will be interesting to see if she can overcome the hurdles ahead.
