On May 30, 2025, Christopher Dispensa, a production crew member who had worked with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) since 2019, filed a lawsuit in Wayne County Circuit Court against AEW and its World Champion, Jon Moxley (Jonathan Good).
Dispensa, contracted through Broadcast Service Group, alleges negligence, civil assault, and battery stemming from an incident during a May 10, 2023, AEW Dynamite episode in Detroit.
Christopher Dispensa Sues Jon Moxley and AEW
In a report by Sports Illustrated, Dispensa claims Moxley unexpectedly shoved him to the ground during a cage match against Kenny Omega, causing severe neck and shoulder injuries requiring cervical fusion and shoulder surgeries.
The lawsuit asserts Moxley deviated from the script, which only involved grabbing a screwdriver, and that this unscripted shove constituted assault and battery, showing either intent to harm or reckless disregard for Dispensa’s safety.

Dispensa further accuses AEW of gross negligence for failing to ensure crew safety. He even claims Moxley had a history of disciplinary issues, though AEW sources, speaking unofficially, denied knowledge of such problems, praising Moxley as a respected leader.
The lawsuit also faults AEW for the negligent hiring and training of Moxley, a 20-year wrestling veteran. Dispensa says he informed AEW’s ringside physician, Dr. Michael Sampson, and others about his injuries that night but filed no formal report due to other work commitments.
He alleges AEW’s medical staff later refused further treatment, and the incident went unaddressed. Dispensa, demoted by Broadcast Service Group to carpenter without explanation, seeks over $25,000 in damages for medical costs, lost wages, pain, emotional distress, and reputational harm.
AEW has declined to comment on the pending litigation, and Dispensa’s legal team reports no response from the company as of June 16, 2025.
Moxley Is Scheduled To Main Event AEW’s Biggest Show of 2025, All In: Texas
Following the lawsuit, Moxley is still scheduled to main event AEW’s All In: Texas pay-per-view on July 12. He will defend his AEW World Championship against “Hangman” Adam Page.
