John Cena Chastises ‘Armchair Activists’ For Supporting R-Truth, Predicts Eventual Betrayal

The fallout of Money in the Bank directly took us to Monday Night RAW. It was John Cena who opened the show and had the Phoenix audience on the edge of their seats. Coming from a loss at MITB, it was exciting to hear what the Undisputed WWE Champion had to say. However, all he did was talk down on R-Truth and show fans how they are in the wrong.

John Cena Criticizes Fans For Being ‘The Online Heroes’

Cena lashed out at fans chanting “We Want Truth!” for R-Truth’s return. Cena mocked, “You wasted your voice to bring back a guy with one claim to fame, pretending to be John Cena.” He then went on to talk about the #WeWantTruth trend on social media that actually started over the revolution.
It then came down to arenas where fans chanted the same. Cena criticized all of those “Spineless Keyboard Warriors” and “Ignorant Armchair Activists” fans for even starting that thing in the first place. Despite the loud chants, he questioned their impact, noting his Farewell Tour now has just 19 dates left.

Halfway through, Cena accused fans of misusing their voices on “the class clown” instead of real competition. The tension underscores Cena’s heel turn, as fans’ loyalty to Truth clashes with his retirement narrative, setting the stage for dramatic WWE developments.

CM Punk confronts John Cena

Right after Cena spoke about everything about the R-Truth situation and criticized the fans, it was time for some real championship business. CM Punk entered the ring, seizing the microphone to confront Cena. He expressed his willingness to resolve their conflict through physical means, noting the paradox of Cena’s defense of wrestling’s status quo while undermining its essence.

He harkens back to 2011, his era as the “Voice of the Voiceless,” and contrasts it with Cena’s battles against WWE’s top talents, specifically highlighting Cody Rhodes. Punk’s goal is clear: to wrest the WWE Championship from Cena, citing Cena’s exploitation of Punk’s vulnerability during Seth Rollins’ attack at Elimination Chamber.

Punk acknowledges his past errors, offering an apology, and recognizes Cena’s descent into power-driven corruption, mirroring his own 2012 downfall. Punk challenges Cena to an immediate match, but Cena insists the title shot awaits in Saudi Arabia at Night of Champions. As tensions mount, Seth Rollins emerges, reminding both of his Money in the Bank leverage.
