Injured WWE Star Spotted Training With Charlotte Flair After Year-Long In-Ring Absence From Company

It looks like one WWE Superstar is getting ready for her comeback. Kiana James was recently spotted training in the ring with 14-time champion Charlotte Flair.

It has been a little over a year since James suffered a knee injury. She last competed in a triple-threat match before sustaining her injury. Shortly before being out, James was drafted to Monday Night RAW during the April 2024 draft, after her time in NXT.

Kiana James’ Comeback: What Does It Mean?

With Kiana James being out of action for a little over a year, her comeback has to be something great and unexpected. After being spotted training with Flair, it may just happen.

During her time in NXT, James had a notable run as a heel with a businesswoman gimmick, which led her to capture the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship with fellow NXT Star Fallon Henley. Henley would later become her biggest rival. She also had a notable feud with Nikkita Lyons.

After her feuds were over, James was drafted to the main roster and picked up a win over WWE legend Natalya in her debut. Months later, she would be off the TV after suffering a knee injury. She hasn’t been seen since.

According to reports after her injury, WWE has placed her in the miscellaneous section on the roster because she wasn’t cleared to wrestle. James finally confirmed her injury and gave fans an update seven months after not being seen.

She captioned the video, “No one’s got you like you got you.”

It’s unclear when James’ comeback will happen, but the fans are ready for her to return to the main roster. With this rising star working with one-fourth of the Four Horsewomen, it says a lot about her drive to get back into the ring.

Flair recently returned to the WWE after tearing her ACL, MCL, and meniscus in her match against Asuka in 2023. She returned at the Royal Rumble in 2025, where she would go on to win and solidify a title opportunity at WrestleMania 41. She challenged Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women’s World Championship in a losing effort.

Before her highly anticipated return, Flair was very active on social media, posting her workout routine and showing fans that she had not lost a step since being injured. Since being back in the squared circle, Flair has seemingly become one of the most hated wrestlers among the WWE Universe.
