Roman Reigns is once again on hiatus in the aftermath of WWE’s biggest spectacle of the year, WrestleMania. This year’s edition underwhelmed, but Reigns can feel good about himself as he, Seth Rollins, and CM Punk delivered a classic main event that redeemed an otherwise dull show. But the thing is, The OTC often steps back in the shadows. Jonathan Coachman chastises the new regime for allowing athletes to work a part-time schedule.
Jonathan Coachman Feels Roman Reigns Barely Works for WWE
In the wake of a “Deadline” news report that intrigued millions of fans, Roman Reigns and Jason Momoa are in talks to work together on the “Street Fighter” live-action adaptation feature film, Reigns’ WWE status was put under fire.
On the “Behind The Turnbuckle” podcast, Coachman expressed bafflement at Reigns’ current WWE schedule. “He already misses two or three months at a time, and as long as this is a narrative that everybody’s struggling, tickets, TV viewership, you need your biggest star. Roman Reigns is arguably one of the three biggest stars in the company, and he never works.”
The Coach continued, “And he just said, ‘My next deal’s gonna be my last, probably. Three more years is all I can do.’ All he can do of what? He only shows up, what would you say, 15 times a year, maybe, on the show?”
Coachman was referring to Reigns’ recent interview with “Vanity Fair,” when he implied he would retire from in-ring competition around 2027 or 2028. The Tribal Chief hopes to have a smooth transition into Hollywood.
Paul Heyman Has Dominated WWE Since Betraying Reigns
One of the key moments of WrestleMania 41 Night One’s Triple-Threat main event was when Heyman went low on Punk, thereby implying that he chose his Tribal Chief over his friend. Reigns was visibly ecstatic at what had happened. Unfortunately for Reigns, this was a ruse.
The Wiseman turned on Reigns as well, handing Rollins a steel chair. The Visionary went on to win the contest. Although Reigns attempted to get back at Heyman on the RAW after WrestleMania, The Wiseman, Rollins, and Bron Breakker stopped him in his tracks. He has not been seen on television ever since.
Meanwhile, Heyman, Rollins, and Breakker have dominated RAW. The Visionary and his protégé are booked for a tag team contest against Punk and Sami Zayn at Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 24.
