From Fan to Fanatic: WWE Addiction Leaves Wife Living in Fear

For some people, WWE is not just a sport; it’s an emotion. Recently, a bizarre and concerning story emerged regarding a professional wrestling fan whose obsession has spiraled into a full-blown addiction, significantly impacting his life and marriage.

The fan has become so engrossed in the world of WWE that his behavior has become erratic and troublesome. His wife, distressed and fearing for the future of their marriage, took the step of reaching out online for help and advice.

A Distressed Wife Says Her Husband’s Love for WWE Has Turned Him Into a Maniac

A 26-year-old female went on Reddit to find a solution for her husband’s (33) crazy obsession with WWE. She revealed that her husband’s wrestling fandom has spiraled into an obsessive behavior that’s causing significant strain on her relationship.

It started innocently enough when he rediscovered his childhood love for professional wrestling a few years ago. Initially, it was just watching shows every night. However, things quickly escalated. The fan now shouts and cheers excessively at the TV (often yelling catchphrases like “Yeet! Acknowledge me! You can see me!”), and expects her full participation in his enthusiasm. If she doesn’t engage, he becomes irritated.

Moreover, he spends too much money on merchandise: “I was ok with this as it was nice to see his passion reignited for something (he’s been in a rough spot with work lately), but now pro wrestling is the only thing he cares about,” she wrote.

This past WrestleMania weekend was a turning point. He demanded she call him “The Final Boss,” and when she refused, a major argument broke out. When Jey Uso defeated Gunther to become the WWE Heavyweight Champion, the fan jumped on the couch and performed the “YEET” dance, which his wife found deeply embarrassing, and she left the room.

The fan even sends her wrestling memes while also talking and acting like numerous WWE Superstars. His emotional reactions have become very extreme. He was intensely unhappy when his favorite wrestler didn’t win at WrestleMania Night One triple-threat main event match. She expressed that his mood swings have impacted her well-being: “Things have taken a toll on me mentally. It’s nonstop.”

The fan has already purchased tickets for them to attend the next wrestling event, adding to her distress. She’s worried about his escalating behavior and the impact it’s having on their marriage.

How do you think she should handle this situation? Sound off in the comments below.
