Former World Champion Criticizes R-Truth’s Promo As Ron Killings on WWE RAW

R-Truth made perfectly clear on WWE RAW that he is back as Ron Killings. He is in it for one final run, as himself, for himself, and fans. While fans are ecstatic to see the veteran back on the program, Vince Russo did not particularly enjoy R-Truth’s promo.

Vince Russo Would Have Rather Heard Ron Killings Talk About His WWE Release

One week before Money in the Bank last Saturday, the WWE Universe was deeply affected when Killings announced his WWE release. However, he returned in the main event at Intuit Dome, taking out John Cena.

On Sportskeeda’s “Legion of RAW,” Russo claimed that a casual fan would not be able to follow what Killings is talking about. He adds that the reason is that people do not know what his WWE contract looks like going forward, or what the problem was with his last contract.

“Let’s look at Truth tonight, okay? The whole speech at the top of the table. Bro, if I’m a casual fan, I don’t know what he’s talking about. So, Truth, why don’t you just say, ‘They weren’t going to renew my contract, because I’m 53 years old.’ Say now, bro. Now, oh, oh, I understand ageism. People are saying, ‘Holy cr*p. He is 53.’ Now, all of a sudden, they are behind the truth,” Russo said.

Be that as it may, Killings received a massive reaction from fans in attendance on RAW. He remains one of the most loved stars on the roster today.

Killings Symbolically Cuts Off His Hair on WWE RAW

During his passionate RAW promo, Killings made sure nobody sees him as R-Truth anymore. He established that from hereon, he will work under his real name. In a symbolic moment during his promo, Killings cut off his braids. This was meant to be him cutting ties with his previous persona. It seems the veteran wants respect more than anything else at this stage in his career.

At the time of this writing, it is unclear whether his program with Cena continues, as The Last Real Champion’s next challenger was revealed on RAW to be CM Punk. Be that as it may, Killings and Cena still have time to revisit their program later this year. In the meantime, the 53-year-old veteran’s relationship with WWE appears to be well resolved.
