Fans Erupt with Laughter as Chad Gable Takes a Shot at El Grande Americano Over WrestleMania Snub

Chad Gable has been trying to explain to the WWE Universe that he and El Grande Americano are two different wrestlers, but fans aren’t buying it. Gable recently took out his frustration on the newly joined Lucha star, but fans can’t stop laughing as he tries to prove he isn’t Americano.

Chad Gable Opens Up on Missing WrestleMania 41

Gable, who has been grinding for years in WWE, didn’t get booked for WrestleMania 41, while El Grande Americano, who just joined recently, landed a major match at the show.

Gable was feuding with masked stars, especially Rey Mysterio and the LWO. Americano also started feuding with them as soon as he arrived. Their similar build, wrestling style, and goals have many people thinking they’re the same person, but Gable keeps denying it, hoping fans will believe him.

Americano — as many believe, including Mysterio — was seen as disrespecting the Lucha Libre tradition. To teach him a lesson, Mysterio requested a match against him at WrestleMania through SmackDown general manager Adam Pearce. It was approved, but due to an injury, the Hall of Famer couldn’t compete. Rey Fénix stepped in to replace him. Fénix put up a great fight but ultimately lost.

Americano has quickly become a fan favorite, but Gable recently vented his frustration in an interview with Ropebreaks over Americano getting the WrestleMania spotlight.

“I got robbed again, man. This year, by this new guy, just comes out of nowhere. Two matches and he’s on WrestleMania. Can you imagine how I feel? 12 years in, 13 years in. I wish him the best of luck, I like that guy,” Gable said.

While the leader of American Made shared his emotions, fans online couldn’t stop laughing, flooding the comment section with jokes.

Will Rey Mysterio Return To Square Off With El Grande Americano?

Mysterio was originally supposed to face Americano, but he suffered an injury the night before during a match on SmackDown. He had teamed with Fénix and Dragon Lee to face Americano and the Creed Brothers.

According to Dave Meltzer, Mysterio wanted to participate but wasn’t cleared due to a groin injury:

“He tore his groin. At first, he thought he was going to be able to make the match, and then when they examined him, they were like, ‘You just can’t.’ So that may be the reason why, when I was trying to find out … last night, ‘Is he going to be able to go?’ Because the first thing I heard was ‘He was going to be able to go.’

“Then I heard this morning, ‘No, he’s not going to be able to go.’ So it was one of those things where he was like, ‘I’m going to be able to make it, I’m going to be able to make it.’ And whatever it was, it’s like ‘He couldn’t make it.'”

While Fénix, who lost after Americano used a metal plate hidden in his mask for a headbutt, couldn’t get the job done, fans are now wondering if Mysterio will eventually return to finish what he started — and maybe unmask what many still believe is Gable behind the disguise.
