With Rey Mysterio being one of the greatest luchadors of all time, it makes sense that El Grande Americano would make the challenge at the biggest show of the year. Americano wants to make a name for himself, and what better way to do that than to defeat a legend at WrestleMania?
On “Monday Night Raw,” Rey Mysterio took on Julius Creed of the American Made faction. The match was an exciting but short contest that saw Mysterio emerge victorious, giving him more momentum heading into WrestleMania. Naturally, following the match, Americano went on the attack to take him out.
Mysterio and Americano should be an intense battle at WrestleMania, but if you do indeed believe that Gable is behind the mask, you know that this story is leading to a potential victory for Americano. He’s had such an extensive history at the event, putting on show-stealing matches with the likes of CM Punk, Eddie Guerrero, Randy Orton, Kurt Angle, and his own son, Dominik Mysterio. Heading into his 13th match at the event, Rey is far beyond wins and losses.
While Mysterio boasts a few major wins at WrestleMania, taking a potential loss to El Grande Americano does nothing to his legacy. Mysterio strives to put on great performances at WrestleMania, so one should expect this to be one of the more exciting matches of the weekend.
