    Damian Priest’s Hometown Recognition

Born in New York City but raised in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, Priest has been in the wrestling business for a long time. He began his career in 2005 wrestling for independent promotions along the East coast, but mostly in the New York and New Jersey area. He would later debut in Ring of Honor (ROH) in 2015.

After spending three years in ROH, Priest signed with the WWE in 2018 and was a part of WWE NXT. He debuted under the name Punishment Martinez, but after losing his match to Matt Riddle, he was reintroduced to the WWE Universe as Damian Priest.

During his time in NXT, Priest held multiple titles, including the NXT North American Championship and the United States Championship. After being called up to the main roster, Priest became a part of The Judgment Day, a Money in the Bank winner, and then WWE World Heavyweight Champion when he cashed in on Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 40.

Damian Priest being recognized in his hometown is a tremendous honor and a long time coming. Congratulations to Damian Priest!
