According to recent reports, TNA World Champion Joe Hendry is making a strong impression within WWE. Many insiders believes it’s “pretty much considered a lock” that he will be joining the company once his current contract with TNA expires.
The Scottish wrestling star has received significant praise following his recent appearances with WWE, particularly his surprise WrestleMania 41 match against Randy Orton.
WWE Officials Highly Impressed with Joe Hendry
Recent reports indicate that Joe Hendry has received “nothing but praise” from WWE personnel following his company performance. There has been “a lot of great internal feedback” regarding the TNA World Champion, who stepped in on short notice to face Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41 after Kevin Owens was sidelined with an injury.
WWE’s Chief Content Officer Triple H has been particularly vocal in supporting Hendry. At the WrestleMania post-show press conference, Triple H called Hendry:
“A great talent, great entertainer, smart, respectful to what we do” and noted that “he’s got a bright future”.
The positive reception has been so strong that Hendry is now “held absolutely in high regard” by key figures within WWE.
Joe Hendry’s Future Plans
While Hendry remains under contract with TNA Wrestling, his current deal is reportedly set to expire within the next year. Despite online debate about his brief WrestleMania match, Hendry himself has dismissed criticism that he was “buried” in his loss to Orton, saying:
“It’s about creating moments… At the end, when Randy does my spin and then does his pose, people who know what wrestling is know that was Randy giving me his seal of approval”.
Triple H has already hinted at future WWE appearances for Hendry. Before his WrestleMania match, Triple H told Hendry that he would there again and to enjoy it before the pressure gets heavier. The Game also cited that this WrestleMania was one of many more to come.
Hendry has been making regular appearances on NXT since WrestleMania and is set to defend his TNA World Title against Trick Williams at the upcoming NXT Battleground 2025.
With strong backing from WWE officials and growing fan support, Joe Hendry appears well-positioned for a future with WWE once his TNA obligations are complete. His successful integration into WWE programming through their working relationship has seemingly paved the way for a permanent move down the line.
For now, Hendry continues to represent TNA as its World Champion while making the most of opportunities to showcase his talents to the WWE audience.
