‘Let’s Not Wait 21 Years’ – CM Punk Addresses Brutal RAW Clash with Former WWE Champ on Social Media

WWE put two of the most popular wrestlers of the last 20 years against each other on WWE Raw this week as part of a Money in the Bank qualifying match, and it left CM Punk wanting more.

Punk was able to share the ring with AJ Styles for the first time in 21 years, which proved to be a hit with the WWE Universe.

CM Punk Wants to Face AJ Styles Sooner Rather Than Later

Punk and Styles are two of WWE’s veteran performers, and given how long they’ve both been around in the business, it’s no surprise that they have history together. However, none of that is recent, as this was their first match in over two decades.

The former AEW star shared his feelings about getting to share the ring with Styles again on his Instagram story after WWE Raw went off air.

He said, “@ajstylesp1, I’ve got a lot on my plate right now, but I’ll always make room for you. Thank you for the boot print on my nose. Let’s not wait 21 years for the next time. You’re a legend.”

WWE put the two men in a triple threat match that also featured El Grande Americano as they all pushed to earn the final spot in the upcoming men’s Money in the Bank ladder match.

Despite the experience of Styles and Punk, it ended up being the masked man who ended up coming out on top with a surprise victory. However, that wasn’t without some form of outside interference, and his steel plate.

Grande put the steel into his mask as he has been doing since arriving in WWE, with his headbutt to Styles being something the former WWE champion couldn’t kick out of.

Punk Still Has A Seth Rollins Problem

Punk had appeared earlier in the night as he came to the aid of Jey Uso and Sami Zayn when Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed attempted to jump them with a three-on-two advantage.

That’s when the Best in the World appeared with a steel chair in hand to even the playing field, but that came at a price. Rollins could be heard screaming to his men that they knew where Punk would be later that night, and that threat ended up holding out.

Rollins’ crew got involved in the main event and attacked Punk, effectively costing him any chance of earning a spot at WWE’s Money in the Bank.

It continued Punk’s ongoing issues with Rollins, which have been taking place since the start of the year. Despite how many matches they have had, it appears that Punk’s problem with Rollins is nowhere near finished.
