The Street Profits made a statement on last night’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, putting a definitive end to their rivalries with both #DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) and The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin). Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford were able to climb the ladder and retrieve their WWE Tag Team Championships, extending their 43+ day reign.
When Nick Aldis made this match official, it was under TLC rules. Tables, ladders, and chairs could be used as weapons en route to one team climbing the ladder and leaving Fort Worth, Texas, as tag champions. On a show that already saw one new champion crowned in Zelina Vega, The Street Profits were going to do whatever it took to make sure that they came out of the TLC match with those still titles around their waists.
Montez Ford Used a Unique Weapon
For nearly 23 minutes, the three teams were putting it all on the line to get the job done. There were plenty of chair shots, tables were broken left and right, and of course, the ladders weren’t just used for climbing. One spot that caught fans’ attention was Montez Ford’s interaction with the crowd, creating a moment with a weapon that hasn’t happened in years.
Montez Ford took the match into the WWE Universe, where he came out with a fan’s prosthetic leg. He quickly returned the leg to the fan at ringside but made sure to batter Johnny Gargano in the process. Joe Tessitore couldn’t believe what just happened, really capturing the shocking moment that WWE fans just witnessed.
How did the WWE Universe React to Ford Using the Prosthetic Leg?
This spot was very well received by the crowd in the arena. The fans on the internet quickly logged on to X (fka Twitter) to react to the moment. Check out some of the fan reactions below:

“Best thing is that one legged fan couldn’t be more thrilled and will never forget how cool this moment was. This is the magic of wrestling,” wrote this one.
With a great match between Fraxion and Los Garza to open SmackDown, there is no shortage of teams that are next in line to challenge The Street Profits. Dawkins and Ford have their work cut out for them, but it’s safe to say that #DIY and The MCMG won’t be getting a rematch for those Tag Team Championships anytime soon.
