Two weeks ago, WWE pulled off a major coup when it was revealed that former AEW star Mariah May had signed with NXT. May appeared on the stage during a brawl involving the NXT Women’s division and put them on notice by claiming that she is the future champion.
Last week, a video package officially introduced May as Blake Monroe to the NXT fans. This week’s show featured Monroe signing her contract in the ring, but things didn’t go to plan.
Blake Monroe’s Contract Signing Hijacked
The final segment of the June 17 edition of NXT saw GM Ava introduce Monroe for the contract signing. As Monroe got into the ring, she said that this is the best women’s division in the world. She added that she had been dreaming of competing with the talent in his locker room. Monroe also mentioned that WWE had always been her dream before she took her pink puffball pen to sign the contract and shake the GM’s hand.
Things were going smoothly until Fatal Influence made their way to the ring. They told Monroe that she is delusional if she thinks she could take over the women’s division here. Monroe responded by saying that the Fatal Influence is as insecure as they are b*****s.
The NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jane told Monroe that she is just the new flavor of the month and people like her walk through the door every now and then. This led to Monroe slapping Jane before she was attacked by Fallon Henley.
MESSAGE. SENT.
This division runs through @jacyjaynewwe and Fatal Influence, and @BlakeMonroeWWE just learned the hard way! 😱#WWENXT pic.twitter.com/Y341PZawrf

Monroe tried to fight them off but ended up on the receiving end of a double chokeslam from Henley and Jane through the table. This could set up Monroe for an immediate push for the NXT Women’s Title, something she already claimed she wants. Given her work and star power in AEW, it would make sense for WWE not to sit on Monroe for long. In fact, a former ECW star believes WWE will heavily push Monroe.
Former ECW Predicts Big Things for Blake Monroe In WWE
Former ECW star Francine believes Monroe is set for big things in WWE. Speaking on Live & Extreme, she said that WWE will keen to heavily invest in the former AEW star.
“I think they’re probably gonna push her to the moon and she’ll be on the main roster within a year. So good for her, talented girl, beautiful girl, I think she will go very far,” Francine said.
This prediction doesn’t seem too far-fetched, given that WWE has seemingly put her in a title program on NXT just weeks after her arrival in the company.
