CM Punk is one of the marquee attractions in the world of professional wrestling. In his long road to becoming The Best in the World, Punk made a lot of friends. At the same time, his list of enemies also grew by the same number. One of those wrestlers, who is a former WWE superstar, was the latest person to launch a rant about Punk.
Which Former WWE Champion Did Not Hold Back When Asked About CM Punk?
In a recent interview on “Going Ringside“, former WWE United States Champion Matt Riddle revealed his true feelings about Punk. Riddle claimed that Punk is always complaining about everything when things do not go his way, and his comments made it clear that he has no love lost for The Second City Saint, both personally and professionally.
Riddle said, “You know, I’m not a big fan of that guy either. That guy sucks at fighting and he’s a bitch to work with in the back. (why?) Because he just belly aches and complains. This guy complains about getting multiple world title runs. I’ve heard from my boys that still work there (WWE) that he is a headache, and this isn’t a storyline, this is the facts. So, this is what it is.”
The Original Bro was released in September 2023. It was just two months later that Punk made his WWE return after a decade. While Riddle is exploring life outside the global juggernaut, Punk continues to be a cornerstone for the promotion at the moment.
CM Punk Is Slated for a Huge World Title Match
On the fallout edition of Monday Night RAW for WWE Money in the Bank PLE, Punk confronted his longtime rival, John Cena. The current Undisputed WWE Champion opened the show and reminded fans that the clock was ticking on his farewell tour. With only 18 days left, Cena asked for a worthy challenge for his title.
Hearing his comments, Punk marched down to the ring to stand toe-to-toe with The Last Real Champion. The Best in the World berated Cena for selling his soul and becoming a corrupted World Champion. He then challenged The Unseen 17 to a title match on the spot.

However, Cena had a counterproposal to have their last showdown for the championship at WWE Night of Champions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which was later made official. With Punk and Cena set to collide, it would be a marquee match accelerated with a storied rivalry.
