5 Key Moments WWE SmackDown Must Deliver Before Money in the Bank

WWE SmackDown on May 30, 2025 is set for another big night of action. With the return of Undisputed Champion John Cena and Cody Rhodes this week, plus Money in the Bank qualifying matches, the blue brand has a huge show in store.

As always, there will be plenty to look forward to as we continue from last week’s fallout and get closer to WWE’s next PLE on June 7.

This week’s show comes from Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, Tennessee. Let’s look at five things that need to happen on SmackDown leading up to Money in the Bank and Worlds Collide.

Will John Cena and Cody Rhodes Come Face to Face?

Last week at Saturday Night’s Main Event, Cody Rhodes finally ended his WWE hiatus. Back for the first time since WrestleMania 41, “The American Nightmare” helped Jey Uso retain his title against Logan Paul by taking out John Cena. He also announced he will team with Jey to face Cena and Paul at Money in the Bank.

Both Cena and Rhodes will be on SmackDown this week for the first time since before WrestleMania. Fans can expect the two to have a face-to-face confrontation before their tag team clash next week. After Rhodes got the upper hand at SNME, the 17-time world champion Cena will want to settle the score. Expect some fireworks.

Will the Tension in The New Bloodline Continue?

The New Bloodline may not be as open with their issues as The Judgment Day on Raw, but there is tension brewing. United States Champion Jacob Fatu has been unstoppable lately, and it’s clear Solo Sikoa doesn’t have control over him anymore.

This week, Fatu will be in a Money in the Bank qualifying match against Andrade and Carmelo Hayes. Last week, SmackDown GM Nick Aldis announced the match, and Sikoa didn’t look happy. To keep this tension alive, something has to happen between Sikoa and Fatu this week.

If Fatu wins, it would make for an interesting scene in the Money in the Bank ladder match, with Sikoa already in.

Can Naomi Qualify for the Women’s Money in the Bank Match?

Naomi has been putting in some of her best work since turning heel. Even though she lost to Jade Cargill at WrestleMania 41, fans have been behind her.

She’s been in the mix with Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton and keeps causing trouble for Cargill. This week, Naomi will get another shot at her rival when she faces Cargill and Nia Jax in a Money in the Bank qualifier.

Any of these three could win, but a win for Naomi would boost her character. We’ve seen that the MITB briefcase is perfect for a heel. Naomi has been working hard since her turn, and a win would be huge. She hasn’t held a singles Women’s world title in over eight years, so this is the time to start that journey back to the top.

Will Bianca Belair Be Confronted by Jordynne Grace?

This week marks the homecoming of Knoxville’s own Bianca Belair. The three-time champion is back on the blue brand, and there’s a chance she’ll be involved in some action. With Jordynne Grace moving to SmackDown, WWE should start building a feud between them.

Grace has been rolling in NXT, and having her go after Belair would be a perfect way to make her presence felt right away.

Will the Wyatt Sicks Make Another Appearance?

The Wyatt Sicks made a shocking return last week on SmackDown after months of being gone. The group started strong last year but had some feuds that didn’t go anywhere.

They had been off TV since losing to The Final Testament on Dec. 9 on Raw. But last week, they returned and interrupted the WWE tag team championship match between The Street Profits and Fraxiom, attacking both teams and DIY. The crowd went wild, and to keep that energy up, they have to show up again this week.

Anything less would drop them right back into the inconsistency that hurt them in the past.
