With Seth Rollins and Naomi walking out of Los Angeles with the Money in the Bank briefcases, WWE is officially on the road to SummerSlam. Money in the Bank was noteworthy for more than one reason, with returns and title changes highlighting the show.
With a few pit stops along the way, there were plenty of seeds planted for the matches that are most likely to happen on WWE’s first two-night SummerSlam event (Aug. 2-3).
1) R-Truth is Back
Ron Killings seems to be the name for R-Truth going forward. After his shocking release from the company, WWE clearly listened to the fans and pivoted to not only make sure they maintained their fan base but the locker room as well. It was rumored to be a last-minute decision to bring Truth back, and he made quite the impact, as he took down John Cena during the main event.

In a moment that no one expected, Truth took all of the attention away from both Money in the Bank winners. His return was left in the dark, one of the great things about pro wrestling nowadays, as the audience never gets to experience an authentic surprise.
2) Jacob Fatu Says, ‘I Hate You’ to Solo Sikoa
With Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed helping Seth Rollins win the Money in the Bank briefcase, Jacob Fatu had a different plan all along. While he brought JC Mateo to the ring with him to help Solo Sikoa, it was clear that Fatu was never going to help Sikoa win. With the two standing alone in the ring together, Fatu finally pushed his stablemate away as he indicated the end of The Bloodline as we know it.
3) Naomi’s Time To Shine
Since her heel turn, Naomi has been turning heads left and right. The former women’s champion has left behind her “feel the glow” persona, as she has a brand new attitude, one that has elevated her to the top. Her feud with Jade seems far from over, but Naomi is a very likely candidate to take the championship away from Tiffany Stratton.
4) Becky Lynch Is a Champion
For the first time in her career, Becky Lynch is the Women’s Intercontinental Champion. She had one last chance to defeat Lyra Valkyria, something she was finally able to do in L.A. Valkyria agreed to the stipulation as she shook Lynch’s hand after the match, as the WWE Universe eagerly anticipates the return of Bayley for a potential title match at Evolution or SummerSlam.
5) 2-Time Money in the Bank Champ
Seth Rollins is the clear top star on “Monday Night RAW.” No matter how much Logan Paul wants the spotlight, and no matter how badly WWE wants to focus on Jey Uso as the World Heavyweight Champion, there is no one in the company right now doing it like Seth Rollins.
CM Punk, Sami Zayn, and a returning Roman Reigns will have something to say about this, but for now, Rollins can enjoy his second reign with the briefcase.
