3 Best Picks for Jeff Cobb’s Debut Opponent on WWE SmackDown

New Japan Pro-Wrestling stalwart Jeff Cobb has arrived at WWE. His debut was at Backlash this past weekend, where he helped the Anoa’i family’s Jacob Fatu score a win over LA Knight in a Fatal 4-Way match. Fatu retained the United States title in the process. However, the Samoan Werewolf was not too pleased with what had happened.

Nevertheless, it seems Jeff Cobb will now be associated with Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa, under the new Bloodline group. Let us look at the three best picks for Cobb’s debut opponent.

LA Knight Has a Bone to Pick After His Title Hunt Was Halted

Jeff Cobb hurt LA Knight’s chances at regaining the United States title from Jacob Fatu at Backlash. The Megastar seems like the obvious choice for Cobb’s debut opponent. Knight is no stranger to Bloodline’s shenanigans, as he has had to fend them off several times in the last few years.

The Megastar may want to inflict revenge on the recently signed WWE star, perhaps as soon as this week’s “Friday Night SmackDown” fallout episode on May 16.

Andrade Could Give Cobb a Noteworthy Debut Match

A trend WWE has followed with its newly signed wrestlers is putting them in matches against those who, unfortunately, fall under the category of glorified enhancement talents. They may be exceptional in the ring, but they are in a weak position.

Andrade has spent his time on SmackDown mostly doing just that.

Rusev wrestled Otis on Raw, while Aleister Black locked horns with The Miz. With that in mind, El Idolo seems like a perfect foil for Jeff Cobb’s debut.

Jacob Fatu Turns on Solo Sikoa, Setting Up a Match Against Jeff Cobb

While this is a long shot as Jeff Cobb will likely debut sooner rather than later, WWE has been building towards a full-blown Solo Sikoa vs. Jacob Fatu program. Sikoa was accused of messing with Fatu’s US title reign of late. There seems to be some jealousy in the air as the former leader of the Bloodline has realized that his Enforcer has surpassed him.

Jacob Fatu and Jeff Cobb have a complex history dating back to their days in the independent circuit. They have wrestled for PCW Ultra and All Pro Wrestling (APW). The Samoan Werewolf once defeated Cobb to become the APW Universal Heavyweight Championship.

If Solo Sikoa and the United States Champion split up, then Jeff Cobb’s allegiance to Sikoa could lead to a program between Fatu and Cobb in WWE.
