Hailey Van Lith is officially a part of the Chicago Sky roster, and Angel Reese couldn’t be happier. The Sky made sure to stack their 2025 WNBA Draft picks as needed, drafting HVL at No. 11 after picking Slovenian forward Ajša Sivka at No. 10.
Reese, of course, is hyped about both.
In fact, Van Lith’s addition to the team has Reese aiming for the 2025 title already.
Angel Reese Raises Championship Hopes After Reuniting with Hailey Van Lith
Both Reese and Van Lith teamed up for the 2023-24 season at LSU, unfortunately losing to UCLA in the Elite Eight.
Post that, Reese made it to the WNBA as the No. 7 overall pick, and Van Lith accepted a transfer to TCU.
Looking to chase success together in Chicago, Reese was more than happy about reuniting with Van Lith.

“We ain’t do it right the first time. Let’s run it backkkkk,” Reese wrote after Van Lith was drafted.
Fans seemed equally excited about the two being in the same team again, many echoing Reese’s hope for a possible title.
Reese even hyped HVL’s outfit, reacting with a simple ‘ate’ on X (formerly Twitter).
Van Lith has proved herself this past year, averaging 17.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 5.4 assists with TCU while shooting a career-high 45.9% from the field. Reese, on her end, scored 13.6 points, 13.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game in 2024.

HVL is equally excited to work with Reese.
Van Lith is Excited to be Reese’s Teammate Again
The 2025 WNBA Draft is not the first time Reese and Van Lith have spoken about and cheered each other on.
“Angel has maintained contact with me this whole past year since she’s been in the league and I transferred. I really appreciate her. We have a very mature relationship, a very mutual respect relationship, where we both have respect for each other’s game and also the character and the person we are off the court,” Van Lith said.
Furthermore, Van Lith admitted that she’s excited to be around Reese again, pointing out the similarities between their mentalities.
“Mostly, I’m just excited to get to be around her again. I think we have a lot of similarities about how we carry ourselves and our mindset on what’s important to us. And, you know, she’s a dog, she turns up the intensity of everybody around her. I’m excited to be in that environment with her again, where she can pull more out of me than I think I have.”
With Sivka and Van Lith on board, the Sky depth chart will certainly go through a chance, adding more interesting pieces around Reese and other talented players like Elena Delle Donne and Courtney Vandersloot.
