The answer came during her appearance on the “Between the Lines with Lisa Leslie” podcast. When host Lisa Leslie asked the question fans had been eagerly waiting to hear answered, “Can we get a confirmation here on ‘Between the Lines,’ are you shooting the three-ball for the competition?” Citron didn’t hesitate.
Smiling confidently, she responded, “I think we can get a confirmation. Yes, I am.”
The confirmation shouldn’t surprise anyone who watched Citron during her final season at Notre Dame. She turned heads by averaging 14.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.7 assists while leading the Fighting Irish to the Sweet 16. That performance earned her the third overall pick by the Mystics in the 2025 WNBA Draft.
But Citron’s shooting credentials run much deeper than one stellar college season. During her four years at Notre Dame, she established herself as one of the most consistent shooters in program history. She averaged 14.3 points per game and knocked down 173 three-pointers at a 37% clip, which ranks eighth-most in school history.
Plus, her 84.3% free-throw percentage ranks fifth all-time at Notre Dame, showing her reliable shooting mechanics.
How Has Citron’s Shooting Translated to the WNBA?
Her senior season numbers were equally solid: 37.2% from three. That consistency has carried into her WNBA rookie campaign with the Mystics, where she’s averaging 14.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, and two assists through 20 games.
Citron is shooting 36.8% from the three-point line in the pros and has already delivered clutch performances. Her game-winning three-pointer in an overtime victory against the Dallas Wings on June 22, proved her ability to deliver under pressure, a key trait for any 3-Point Contest contender.

Beyond the shooting contest, Citron will also be showcasing her talents on the All-Star court itself. However, she found out about her selection in the most unexpected way possible.
“Before our game against Minnesota, I was checking my phone. I saw that Gabby Williams had followed and DM’ed me. I was like, ‘This is super random because I’ve never met her, never talked to her.’ And then I looked at her DM, and it was a screenshot of a voicemail from Cathy to her.”
“And in the DM, she was like, ‘Hey, Cathy called me thinking that this number was your number. I hope this isn’t how you found out, but congrats,” added Citron during the podcast.
She’s been selected for “Team Clark”, which is captained by Caitlin Clark. The roster is stacked with talent as it includes Aliyah Boston, Sabrina Ionescu, A’ja Wilson, Satou Sabally, Kelsey Mitchell, Gabby Williams, Citron’s Mystics teammate Kiki Iriafen, Jackie Young, and Kayla Thornton.
