Paige Bueckers’ Era in the WNBA Officially Begins After Latest Groundbreaking Deal With Ally Financial

In a moment that will be etched in basketball history, Paige Bueckers stood tall on April 6, not just as a player but as a legend in the making. Her 17 points helped propel UConn to an 82-59 victory over South Carolina in the championship final. Bueckers didn’t just win a title; she made a statement.

As Coach Geno Auriemma beamed with pride, the basketball world wasn’t just witnessing another collegiate triumph; they were watching the prelude to what promises to be one of the most anticipated WNBA careers in recent memory. And now it seems like Bueckers has already taken a significant step with a new deal.

Paige Bueckers Signs a New Deal With Ally Financial

Just hours before the 2025 WNBA Draft, Bueckers signed a groundbreaking endorsement deal with Ally Financial, symbolizing her formal entry into the professional basketball world. While the draft is set to solidify her WNBA journey, this endorsement already signals that her time has arrived.

“One of the things we like about Paige, aside from just the fact that she’s a force on the court, she’s got a huge social media presence. [Paige] has more followers than any athlete, male or female, that played in March Madness, which is really incredible,” said Ally Chief Marketing Officer Andrea Brimmer.

Her legacy at UConn is already etched in stone. Despite battling injuries during her college career, Bueckers consistently delivered. In her freshman year, she averaged 20 points, 5.8 assists, and 4.9 rebounds per game, earning the prestigious Naismith Player of the Year award and becoming the first freshman ever to win it.

She returned stronger after missing significant time due to injury, showing resilience that only heightened her profile. Over her college career, Bueckers averaged 19.8 points, 4.6 assists, and 4.7 rebounds while shooting 42.3% from beyond the arc.

“Partnering with Ally is about more than just banking—it’s about empowering people to make their money work smarter. As an athlete, I’ve learned that success isn’t just about the game you play, but the opportunity and resources you get access to.”

“Ally’s commitment to helping more people make smart, informed banking decisions aligns with my own values, and I’m excited to use my platform to help others feel confident using the savings buckets to organize and achieve their savings goals,” said Bueckers about her recent endorsement deal.

With the 2025 WNBA Draft fast approaching, Bueckers is widely projected to be the No. 1 overall pick. All signs point to the Dallas Wings, making her the cornerstone of their future. The draft may be the formality, but the Paige Bueckers era is already underway.

Ally Financial Didn’t Only Strike a Deal With Bueckers

Bueckers’s new endorsement deal with Ally Financial isn’t just a big moment for her but a piece of something much more significant. While her signing made headlines, she is joining a growing roster of WNBA stars already aligned with Ally Financial, including Breanna Stewart and Sydney Colson. But Ally Financial’s vision goes beyond individual partnerships.

Ally Financial has officially joined forces with the WNBA in a major multiyear agreement, becoming the league’s exclusive retail banking partner and a new WNBA’s Changemakers Collective member.

Ally Financial is creating interactive experiences at WNBA Live and will be the title sponsor for fan voting for the All-Star Game. Additionally, Ally will boost the league’s newly introduced “Rivals Week” with themed events and activations throughout the week.

“Ally has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to elevating women’s sports in a way that drives real impact,” said WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert.

To kick things off, Ally Financial reported that Bueckers, Stewart, and Colson united for Ally’s launch of the “That’s a Savings Bucket” Sweepstakes — a national promo inspired by Ally’s signature savings feature. Fans can enter to win a fully covered trip to the WNBA All-Star Weekend in July 2025, plus $5,000 to help grow their savings.
