Azzi Fudd has UConn Huskies fans on edge. Will she take one last ride with the Huskies, or is it time to go pro?
The superstar guard is keeping things tight. Fudd has been dodging questions left and right, keeping everyone guessing about her WNBA Draft decision. But after weeks of silence, she finally gave a hint — it’s coming soon. And with the WNBA Draft deadline looming, time is running out.
Azzi Fudd Finally Addresses Her Future
For weeks, Fudd avoided the big question like a defender in full-court press. But during an interview with ESPN, she was asked straight up if she plans to declare for the 2025 WNBA Draft. Yet, instead of giving a yes or no, Fudd sidestepped it with a smooth response.
“I feel like I’ve been doing a great job of staying present. I’m just excited and focused on what’s ahead, and I’ll make the decision when I need to.”
That answer didn’t settle the rumors. It felt more like Fudd was saying that she wasn’t answering that right now. But just days later, on March 21, she gave a little more.
Speaking ahead of UConn’s NCAA Tournament opener, Fudd admitted: “I still haven’t made that decision and will soon. I’ve talked to the coaches, talked to my family, and the decision is close.”

That’s the most direct answer Fudd’s given yet, but it also means she’s still weighing her options. And while Huskies fans are hoping she’ll come back, UConn head coach Geno Auriemma might not be sure she’s ready to make the jump just yet.
Stay or Go? The Decision That Could Shape Fudd’s Future
Fudd has WNBA talent, no doubt. She’s a knockdown shooter, a skilled playmaker, and a player who can take over a game. But there’s also the injury factor, which has followed her through much of her college career.
So, does Fudd return for another year at UConn, show she can stay healthy, and boost her draft stock? Or does she roll the dice, enter a stacked 2025 WNBA Draft, and begin her pro career?
It’s not an easy call. Coach Auriemma usually wants players to decide soon after the conference tournament, but Fudd is taking her time. Maybe she’s waiting to see how UConn’s March Madness run goes or maybe she just needs a little more space. Either way, the clock is ticking.
The WNBA Draft is coming fast, and whatever Fudd decides will shake things up no matter which way it goes.
