Dawn Staley Makes Feelings Clear on Aliyah Boston’s Controversial Tech During Caitlin Clark-Angel Reese Controversy

Aliyah Boston had no clue about her technical foul during the Indiana Fever vs. Chicago Sky opener. The blowout win was not without drama, with fireworks between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese taking center stage.

It all started when Clark committed a hard foul on the Sky forward. Reese was sent to the floor, but she was up on her feet and moved towards Clark as a brief scuffle ensued. The Fever guard was handed a flagrant 1, while Reese and Boston were given technical fouls for their part in the melee.

Speaking on “The Breakfast Club,” Dawn Staley weighed in on Boston being hit with a technical foul during the Caitlin Clark-Angel Reese heated exchange. “She didn’t even know until after the game,” Staley said. “And she is tight with her money. She wants somebody to pay her fine.”

When Boston did find out, Clark had the reporters in stitches during the postgame conference. With the crowd chiming in, the booing overshadowed the announcement that the players were handed whistles.

Boston had no idea about her foul until after the game. “Wait…I got the tech?” she asked with a surprised expression. “Oh nooo!” the big said, covering her face, leading to a few smiles during the presser.

In addition to offering to pay for her fine, Clark also had flowers for Boston. “I appreciate AB having my back, I guess,” the second-year guard said. “I don’t know what she did, I didn’t see that. Have fun paying that fine… I got it for you, don’t worry. It’s real hefty.”

Boston and the Fever have been off to a decent start. The forward recorded a double-double in her season opener with 19 points and 13 rebounds in the win against the Sky. This was followed by another DD2 in the loss against the Atlanta Dream. Boston had 24 points and 10 rebounds, but her efforts were in vain as Atlanta edged out the site 91-90. Both teams meet again, with the actions shifting to State Farm Arena on Thursday.
