Clark is expected to rejoin the lineup Saturday afternoon as the Fever host the WNBA champion New York Liberty — the league’s last undefeated team. Indiana went 2-3 without its star guard, who was averaging 19 points, 9.3 assists, six rebounds and 1.3 steals per game before a quad injury sidelined her for five games.
“I’m really excited,” Clark said this week. “I think it’s definitely been a process. I think the hardest part is when you like begin to feel really good and then it’s just a process of working yourself back into actually getting up and down and getting out there with my teammates.”
Clark resumed practicing this week and said that while she was out, the Fever had to adapt their offense to better suit other players’ strengths. “We changed a little bit of what we did on offense while I was out … We didn’t play out of a pick and roll as much, because that’s what I like to do. And some of my teammates, that’s not their best strength… So just getting back into the flow of doing some of those types of things,” she explained.

She also stressed the importance of timing and pace. “I think just getting out there and continuing to build my chemistry with my teammates, and playing fast, playing up tempo. I think that’s gonna be the best for us.”
