Caitlin Clark Has Apt 2-Word Response to Photographer’s Hilarious Critique on Fever Star’s Chicago Snaps

Caitlin Clark’s court vision and deep-range shooting shattered 54-year-old NCAA Division I scoring records and crowned her college career as the all-time leader in both women’s and men’s Division I history.

She also did well in her WNBA rookie year, averaging 19.2 points, 8.4 assists, and 3.1 3-pointers per game. Not surprisingly, she was named a WNBA All-Star and eventually bagged the WNBA Rookie of the Year award.

This season, Clark has continued to shine. Before a left quadriceps strain benched her on May 24, Clark was averaging 19.0 points, 9.3 assists, and 6.0 rebounds per game over her first four outings—numbers that would put many veterans to shame. While sidelined nursing a quad strain, the young Indiana Fever superstar traded points for panoramas on the Chicago Skyline.

After meeting the fans, signing their merch before Indiana and Chicago’s tip-off on June 7, and getting into a wholesome clash with a Sky fan, she took time to marvel at the city’s blue skies. Little did she know that one cheeky reply to a seasoned photographer’s praise would send social feeds into a frenzy.

Caitlin Clark 2-Word “Not Horrible” Zinger Post Photographer’s Critique

On June 7, Clark, ruled out of Indiana’s matchup with the Sky, grabbed more than the game ball. She borrowed a professional camera from sports photographer Bri Lewerke and set off to capture Chicago’s iconic skyline during pregame shoot-around.

Lewerke, whose portfolio includes images of basketball luminaries from Zion Williamson to Paige Bueckers, shared a “sneak peek” of Clark’s unedited shots the following day on her Instagram Story. She labeled them “low key nice.”

“Sneak peek of @caitlinclark22’s pics from Chicago. She’s low key nice. This isn’t edited at all.”

For an athlete celebrated for hitting contested three-pointers, this was a well-placed shot off the court. Rather than an elaborate acceptance, Clark delivered an understated two-word “Thank You” via her own Instagram Story. In her own style, Clark wrote, “Not Horrible.”

Fever Dominates Sky 79–52 Amidst Clark’s Recovery Drive

Meanwhile, down at the United Center on June 7, the Fever (4–4) throttled the Sky (2–5) with a 27-point rout, marking their second straight win without Clark in the lineup. Kelsey Mitchell spearheaded the attack with 17 points. The Fever’s Natasha Howard contributed 13, Aari McDonald added 12 off the bench, and Aliyah Boston scored 11.

The Fever jumped out to a 21–13 lead in the first quarter behind Mitchell’s hot start, and extended their advantage to 41–28 by halftime. In the third quarter, Indiana massacred Chicago with a 27–11 before sealing their 79–52 victory.

The Iowa prodigy suffered the quad strain early in Indiana’s May 24 loss to the New York Liberty, initially masked by adrenaline during the contest. An MRI the following day confirmed the strain that immediately put the rookie into a two-week recovery window.

Following Chicago, Indiana faces the Atlanta Dream on June 10 and then the defending champion New York Liberty on June 13. While the Fever continues to hold their own in Clark’s absence, fans are just as eager to see her back dropping dimes on the court as they are to see more of her off-court charm.

Whether it’s draining 3-pointers or snapping skyline shots, Clark’s ability to make headlines — even with a simple “Not Horrible” — proves her star power extends far beyond basketball.
