Many people talk about Reese on social media, but her on-court actions made waves. The Chicago Sky star, a dominant force since her first professional game, is changing the storied history of the league and has quickly become one of the premier players in women’s basketball.

Specifically, Reese’s rookie season was historic, particularly in the area of rebounding. She was dominant in rebounding, leading the league in average rebounds per game with 13.1, in addition to averaging 13.6 points and 1.9 assists per game in 34 games.

In total rebounds as a rookie, Reese tallied 446, which is a new single-season record for the WNBA. Reese tallied 172 offensive rebounds as a rookie, which is also a new record for the league as well. Perhaps most impressively, Reese became the first player in WNBA history to have 20 rebounds or more in three straight games.

In her last games, she has continued her historic rebounding streak, recording 15 or more rebounds in four consecutive games, making her the first player in WNBA history to accomplish that. In her last game against the Los Angeles Sparks, Reese helped her team, the Chicago Sky, earn a 92-85 victory and had a season-high 24 points. She also recorded 16 rebounds, seven assists, two blocks, and one steal during the game.

What grade statistics do not show, though, is that Reese has had a significant impact on the court, having already become a cultural icon and representing the new generations of players in the WNBA.
