Angel Reese Praises Ryan Coogler’s ‘Sinners’ With Perfect 2-Word Message

With the WNBA season fast approaching, all eyes are on the Chicago Sky and their rising star Angel Reese. While the Sky didn’t have a standout season during Reese’s rookie year, they still captured major fan attention, and that energy is expected to carry over into the upcoming season.

Reese had a strong debut campaign, averaging 13.6 points, 13.1 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game, leading the league in rebounding. In her debut campaign, she was named a WNBA All-Star and a member of the All-Rookie team.  This season, she’ll have a familiar face joining her in Chicago.

Hailey Van Lith, drafted out of TCU, joins the Sky after previously playing alongside Reese on the 2023–24 LSU team, the year after Reese helped lead LSU to a National Championship. While Van Lith’s fit with the roster is still taking shape, having a trusted teammate around could make the transition smoother.

Angel Reese Praises Ryan Coogler’s ‘Sinners’

With some downtime this offseason, Reese has taken time to enjoy entertainment and other ventures. One movie that caught her attention is “Sinners,” the Ryan Coogler-directed film that’s quickly gaining traction.

The movie is currently the No. 2 film in the country behind “A Minecraft Movie.” It is projected to pull in more than $40 million during its opening weekend. Reese added her voice to the buzz with a quick but telling reaction on social media.

“Sinners 10/10,” she wrote — a simple endorsement that could help introduce the film to even more fans in the WNBA world.

With a growing influence off the court, Reese’s approval could give Sinners a small boost in ticket sales from curious supporters.

    Angel Reese’s Upcoming Season

The Chicago Sky are entering a new season with playoff hopes in mind. While a postseason berth isn’t guaranteed, the roster has potential, especially with Reese at the center of it.

Reese struggled with shooting consistency during her rookie year, but she’s reportedly put in the work during the offseason to sharpen her game. A more polished version of Reese, along with new and returning teammates, could put the Sky in the mix for a higher seed.

Still, the road to the playoffs won’t be easy. The Los Angeles Sparks are expected to improve, the defending champion New York Liberty are aiming for a repeat, and the Las Vegas Aces want to reassert their dominance.

Can the Sky break through? And will Reese take another leap in Year 2? Time will tell.
