Angel Reese’s Mom Wages War Against Caitlin Clark’s Fans As Sky Fail To Fill the Seats at Preseason Game

Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark have dominated Women’s sports collegiately and professionally. We’ve seen them battle on the court and settle their differences off the court through the media.

Well, this time is no different as Angel Reese’s Mom, Angel Webb Reese, took to social media to ignite the feud yet again.

Angel Reese’s Mom Takes Shots At Caitlin Clark Fans

In a post on X, Reese’s mom takes a swipe at Caitlin Clark and her die-hard fanbase after the Indiana Fever star’s college homecoming at the weekend. Reese tweeted:

Aww that certain fan base looking in the stands celebrating ‘attendance’ while others are looking up in the rafters celebrating championship banners. We ain’t the same. 🤦‍♀️ Different year same haters 😂 Have a great day 😘”

Angel’s mom was indirectly implying that Caitlin Clark and her fanbase are worried about selling out arenas, rather than her daughter, who hangs banners, although she didn’t list out names.

Angel Reese helped LSU win its first national championship in 2023, playing a crucial role in their 102-85 victory over Caitlin Clark and Iowa. This is where the controversy surrounding these two polarizing players began.

Fans Troll Angel Reese & Chicago Sky

Then the discourse started. Fans took to social media to point out the difference in attendance in videos shared for Clark’s game as opposed to the few in attendance at Reese’s.

One X post commented, “Look at that…they sold out the lower bowl..they deserve raises”. Poking fun at Angel Reese’s previous comments that WNBA players should be paid more.

Another user posted “Insane crowd for her homecoming!”. Another chimed in saying “Their biggest crowd for the season. Won’t be that many people in Chicago”.

Surely, the Sky forward’s mom had to see these posts and set out to defend her daughter. The problem with this is she may have added more fuel to the fire as some fans call out players just to get a response, and Reese’s mom handed one to them.

The WNBA stars go head-to-head once again when the Fever host the Sky in Indiana on May 17. All eyes will be on this star-studded matchup as the two possible future faces of the WNBA meet yet again.

Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese Visit Old Stomping Grounds

To be fair, Angel Reese’ mom did not start the chatter on social media. It was fans who called out the low attendance that Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky. Here’s a little background information.

The Chicago Sky played an WNBA preseason game against the Brazilian national team at LSU on May 2, 2025, in Baton Rouge. The game was a homecoming for former LSU star Angel Reese and also featured former LSU teammate Hailey Van Lith, who was drafted by the Sky. Reese put up 15 points at led the Sky to the W at her alma mater.

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever played  a preseason game at Clark’s collegiate home of Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa against the same Brazilian national team on May 4. The former Hawkeyes superstar showed out for the crowd in the win, scoring 16 points with a few of her patented logo 3’s.

Reese’s LSU homecoming looked pretty empty meanwhile, Clark’s return to Carver Hawkeye Arena was sold out right away after tickets went on sale — and resulted in a packed house.
