What to expect from the Pro Bowl?

Have there been any significant changes to the 2022 Pro Bowl roster since its initial release on December 22, 2021? Only six players need to be replaced due to playing in Super Bowl LVI. A pair of Steel City offensive playmakers patch the holes left by their AFC North rival. Steelers rookie RB Najee Harris replaces Bengals RB Joe Mixon while Pittsburgh WR Diontae Johnson fills in for Cincinnati rookie WR Ja’Marr Chase.

The NFC had four voids to fill as the Rams took one more step towards a Lombardi Trophy. The NFC will be without its top WR and DT in Cooper Kupp and Aaron Donald, respectively.

Injury absences have taken a toll on the roster

However, pull-outs due to injury have been causing a more considerable stir across the league. Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson had to pull out of the 2022 Pro Bowl due to injury, which led to Patriots rookie QB Mac Jones being named the AFC’s third-string QB. The NFC’s QB room also looks entirely different as both Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady withdrew due to injury. Kirk Cousins replaces Rodgers, and Russell Wilson replaces Brady in the 2022 NFL Pro Bowl.

However, the NFC’s offensive line is the one group affected the most by the wear and tear of the NFL regular season. Due to injury, six starters have pulled out of the 2022 NFL Pro Bowl. The only players remaining from the original roster are Tampa Bay Buccaneers C Ryan Jensen and G Ali Marpet and Philadelphia Eagles C Jason Kelce. While it might not be the best of the best anymore, the matchups should still provide a fun and interesting Pro Bowl today.
