Final Dolphins-Bills Injury Report: Will Zach Sieler, Jevon Holland, Kader Kohou Play?

    Published on

The Dolphins roll into Western New York banged up on defense. Zach Sieler and Jevon Holland are among those not expected to play vs. the Bills.

Even in the best of health, the Miami Dolphins’ defense has long struggled against Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills.

They certainly won’t have that in Week 9 Sunday, when the Dolphins visit Western New York with their season basically on the line. Here’s the bad news from the final Dolphins-Bills injury report of the week.

Miami Dolphins Injury Updates Ahead of Bills Game

Four Dolphins players did not practice Wednesday or Thursday: TE Julian Hill (shoulder), S Jevon Holland (hand, knee), CB Kader Kohou (neck), and DT Zach Sieler (eye).

All will not play Sunday, Dolphins Mike McDaniel suggested during his final news conference of the week Friday.

Seven others were at least limited in their participation due to injury at some point this week: CB Storm Duck (ankle), WR Tyreek Hill (foot), OLB Emmanuel Ogbah (bicep, illness), LB Jordyn Brooks (hamstring, wrist), WR River Cracraft (on IR with a shoulder injury), DT Benito Jones (knee), and FB Alec Ingold (calf).

Here was information McDaniel provided prior to Friday’s practice.

Defensive tackle Zach Sieler (fractured orbital) is very unlikely to play Sunday, McDaniel suggested.

“It doesn’t look likely based upon where the recovery was at,” McDaniel said.

Sieler — who missed the Cardinals game in Week 8 — was close to being back to a point of playing, McDaniel said. And when he does, he will wear a visor for protection.

“What you’re worried about is further injury,” McDaniel said. “… You need to be able to see and you don’t want to do anything to your eyes if you can prevent it.”

Later in the availability, McDaniel said he’s “feeling a little pessimistic” about Holland, who hurt his knee Sunday in his first game back from a hand injury.

McDaniel said Kohou, the team’s starting slot cornerback, is also unlikely to play Sunday, but it “is not a long-term thing. We’re trying to let it cool off so he can play to his full potential. It’s not a week-to-week thing. It’s more daily.”

While the Dolphins are expected to have Ingold and Tyreek Hill available Sunday, Julian Hill and River Cracraft (who is on IR but practiced this week) will not play.
