The Minnesota Vikings are looking to build off of a fantastic season, and thankfully for them, the city of Minnesota has a ton of successful teams. With the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference Finals, one Vikings player made his way out to the game but was shocked when he received something.
Minnesota Vikings Star Josh Metellus Warned for ‘Excessive Verbal Abuse’
Professional athletes are going to have the most money and connections compared to the casual NBA fan, meaning they get the best seat in the house. Metellus posted a picture on social media with his seat to the game, but there was something in his hand that drew more attention than where he was sitting.
The Minnesota Timberwolves made the most of their first home game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, beating them 143-101. One of the big complaints about the NBA playoffs this year is that most of the games are blowouts. The Timberwolves still trail the series, 2-1, but no matter the score, Metellus made sure the opposing team heard from him.
Metellus received a warning card from the NBA that read: “You are being issued a warning card that the comments, gestures, and/or behaviors that you have directed at players, coaches, game officials, and/or other Spectors constitute excessive verbal abuse and are in violation of the NBA Fan Code of Conduct.”
The card continued, “This is the first and only warning that you will receive. If, after receiving this warning, you verbally abuse and player, coach, game official, or spectator, you will be immediately ejected from the arena without refund.”
“Energy is a hell of a drug” Metellus said when he received the warning. Being a player in the National Football League, Metellus knows a thing or two about being penalized for having too much fun. It’s become a very common factor for an NFL official to penalize someone for excessive celebration, or anything in that category.

While it’s completely different being a fan to being a player on the field, the rule remains the same.
After losing the first game 114-88 and the second 118-103, this win for the Timberwolves meant everything. They currently only trail one game in the series, and will look to even it up Monday, May 26.
The Thunder are the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference and clear favorites to win the entire thing. Depending on how the series goes, Minnesota could host Game 6 on Friday, May 30.
