The Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions are treating fans to a great game between two division rivals. The Vikings carry a seven-point lead into the fourth quarter with the ball. They have looked in control on offense, and a strong fourth quarter will be crucial to securing the win and helping keep their playoff hopes alive. In today’s contest, though, to no one’s surprise, Justin Jefferson joined a list of legends for his performances in Minnesota.
Justin Jefferson Becomes Top 3 in Receptions for the Vikings
Jefferson moved into third place for receptions in Vikings history. He notched his 540th reception with Minnesota and is now in third, only behind Hall of Famers Randy Moss and Cris Carter.
Jefferson is in elite company and is just getting better as he enters his prime. He chases Moss by just 47 catches and could likely pass him by the end of the 2025 season.

Jefferson has six catches for 47 yards and a touchdown on the day. They will have to rely on his clutch abilities to get open and seal this victory over Detroit. With a Vikings win, they would move to 4-4 and be within one game of the Lions in the standings. A loss would be devastating after the Vikings had been in control of the game for most of the second half and would put a serious dent in their playoff hopes.

Jefferson is the 14th-ranked wide receiver in PFSN’s Wide Receiver Impact score with a grade of 83.9. The Vikings star is one of the most dynamic threats in the NFL and will continuously be called upon to make big plays for Minnesota. He’s going to be with the Vikings for a long time and will be giving Carter a run for his money at the top of the receptions list for the franchise.
The Vikings’ offense looked much better than it did in Week 9 with McCarthy at the helm. Carson Wentz did a decent job covering for McCarthy while he was recovering from an injury, but the veteran quarterback was toughing out a shoulder injury in Week 8, which led to the end of his season.
The Lions aren’t going to go away without a fight, and the Vikings have to work to hold onto this fourth-quarter lead. The Packers were upset by the Panthers, leaving a huge opportunity for both the Vikings and Lions to gain ground in the NFC North. The game is going down to the wire as both teams need this win.
