Recent reports that Bill Belichick’s girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, had been banned from the UNC football facility have been shot down by the university. Journalist Pablo Torre originally made the claims, stating that multiple sources from inside the university’s athletic department had informed him of the decision.

UNC Denies Banning Jordon Hudson From Its Football Facility
Reports of Hudson’s supposed ban from the UNC football facility originated on an episode of “Pablo Torre Finds Out.” During the podcast episode, Torre revealed that multiple sources he’d spoken to had informed him of the decision, before speculating on the possible motivations behind it.
“Two sources at the University of North Carolina tell me there has been a decision, that was made last week, by the higher-ups inside the athletic department, that had hired Bill Belichick to be the highest-paid public employee, not just coach, in the state of North Carolina, at $10 million a year.
“And that decision was that Jordon Hudson is no longer allowed in the football building; she is not allowed on the football field. Quote, ‘don’t think you’ll be hearing much from Jordon, moving forward.'”

But the university has since spoken out on the reports, claiming that no such ban has been enforced against Hudson, and that the Instagram model is “welcome” at the facility.
“While Jordon Hudson is not an employee at the University or Carolina Athletics, she is welcome to the Carolina Football facilities. Jordon will continue to manage all activities related to Coach Belichick’s personal brand outside of his responsibilities for Carolina Football and the University.”

Pablo Torre Doubles Down on Reports
After the university responded to the reports, Torre fired back, suggesting that the program had changed its position after his reports went viral. In a follow-up post, Torre defended his findings, claiming they had come from “the highest levels of the football program.”
“UNC can now choose to describe or change its position on Jordon Hudson’s involvement however it wishes, following the publication of our episode. We requested comment and filed dozens of FOIA requests that were not satisfied. And we stand by the specific reporting in our episode, which came from the highest levels of the football program.”

It’s very possible that UNC is simply trying to save face by denying the reports, or that Belichick himself had put the university under pressure to go back on its decision. When it comes to college sports, and the kind of funding that it takes to lure a name like Belichick to a program, there are endless stakeholders in play behind the scenes. Whether the reports were true or not, it’s a messy look for everyone involved.
