UFC Vegas 107: Mateusz Gamrot vs. Ludovit Klein: Result, Highlights, and Full Recap

A lightweight clash between Mateusz Gamrot and Ludovit Klein graced the co-main event slot of UFC Vegas 107.

Gamrot entered the fight after suffering a split decision loss to Dan Hooker at UFC 305. On the other hand, Klein was riding a seven-fight undefeated streak before the encounter on May 31.

Round 1

Gamrot started the round by throwing a couple of leg kicks. He then attempted kicks to his opponent’s body and head but didn’t find much success with them. Klein landed a punch that seemingly hurt Gamrot.

Gamrot managed to secure a takedown and got ahold of his opponent’s back against the fence. Klein made several attempts to get back on his feet, but Gamrot continued to drag him back to the ground. The round ended with “Gamer” on Klein’s back.

Round 2

Both fighters traded leg kicks and Gamrot went back to his gameplan and took Klein down to the ground. The Polish threw strikes from the top position, but could not cause any significant damage with them.

In the last minute of the round, Gamrot grabbed Klein’s back against the fence and threw several knees. “Mr. Highlight” got back on his feet and threw several heavy blows, but failed to successfully land a majority of them.

Round 3

Both fighters came out aggressive in the third round and threw some wild shots. Klein got ahold of his opponent’s neck and attempted a submission but Gamrot got out of it. “Gamer” attempted a takedown but it was stuffed by Klein.

Klein started to find success with his strikes. Gamrot responded with multiple jabs. After trading shots for some time on the feet, Gamrot changed levels and scored another takedown.

The fight went the 15-minute distance and ended with a unanimous decision victory for Gamrot. All three judges scored the bout 30-27 in favor of “Gamer”.

With the victory, the Polish fighter has now won four out of his last five UFC bouts. This run includes victories over names like Jalin Turner, Rafael Fiziev and Rafael dos Anjos. Gamrot, currently ranked seven in the promotion’s lightweight rankings, called out Dan Hooker, Paddy Pimblett and Benoit Saint-Denis for a showdown in his post-fight Octagon interview.

“Give me the list. I want to fight with everybody,” said Gamrot. “For sure, Hooker in the future… Paddy is the idiot from Europe, I wanna fight with him… If Benoit Saint-Denis want the smoke, bro, another easy fight. Paris, main event, five rounds, give me this fight.”
