Sodiq Yusuff and Mairon Santos went toe-to-toe in a three-round lightweight clash at UFC Vegas 106.
Yusuff entered the fight on a two-fight skid in the UFC. Santos, on the other hand, was on a four-fight win streak prior to the encounter on May 17.

Round 1
Both fighters started the bout on a cautious note and took time to size each other up. Santos threw multiple leg kicks in the opening minute of the round. Yusuff landed a jab to his opponent’s body. The two fighters traded shots in the pocket.
Both athletes kept trading leg kicks. Santos threw heavy shots at close range at Yusuff. “Super” landed a good two-punch combo on Santos. “The Legend” started putting his jab to use.
A slip-up by Santos led Yusuff to pin him against the fence.

Round 2
Yusuff threw a hard leg kick to start the second round. Santos returned the favor by attempting a head kick. The Brazilian continued to find a home for his jab.
Yusuff attempted to score a takedown but failed. Santos got Yusuff in a clinch position against the fence but failed to do much damage. Yusuff landed a kick to his opponent’s body. Santos landed a clean left hand while trading leather at close range.
Santos attempted a spinning kick in the closing seconds of the round.

Round 3
Santos landed a jab and a leg kick to open the round. The Brazilian continued to reap the fruits of his jab. Yusuff managed to land kicks to Santos’ body and leg. Santos returned the favor with a body kick of his own.
Santos successfully avoided many of his opponent’s leg kicks and kept throwing his jab. Yusuff managed to land a takedown, but Santos got back up on his feet quickly. Yusuff pinned Santos against the fence for a takedown attempt, but could not do much in that position.
Santos threw several strikes on Yusuff’s back while standing against the fence. Santos landed a heavy body kick to close out the round.
UFC Vegas 106: Sodiq Yusuff vs. Mairon Santos Result
The UFC Vegas 106 fight lasted all three rounds and ended with a unanimous decision victory for Santos. The three judges scored the bout 30-27, 30-27, and 29-28 in favor of the Brazilian.
Santos then spoke to Michael Bisping for his post-fight Octagon interview, where he shared that he was delighted with the win.
“I just trained so hard for this guy because I knew he was gonna bring it… I’m just so happy, man,” shared Santos.
