The UFC recently revealed their top 5 walkouts, and Jamahal Hill, the former light heavyweight champion, seemingly agrees with the ranking. Conor McGregor’s walkout at UFC 189 was fourth on the list, which was dominated by featherweights.
Hill last competed at UFC 311, where he lost to Jiri Prochazka, a fellow ex-light heavyweight champion, via third-round TKO. Up next for Hill is a fight night main event against Khalil Rountree Jr. at UFC Baku.
Jamahal Hill Reacts to UFC’s Greatest Walkout
The greatest walkout ever in the UFC, according to the promotion, was Korean Zombie’s for his retirement fight. When he walked out to fight Max Holloway at UFC Singapore, the crowd sang along with the walkout music, the iconic “Zombie” song by The Cranberries.
ESPN MMA shared the list on an Instagram post, where Jamahal Hill shared his thoughts. “Zombies walkout gave me goose bumps and a crazy rush of emotion,” Hill wrote in the comments section.

In addition to TKZ, Conor McGregor, Alexander Volkanovski, and Ilia Topuria were the other featherweights, who had their walkouts on the list.

McGregor’s walkout at UFC 189 came at fourth spot, while Volkanovski and Topuria’s walkouts at UFC 284 and UFC 308 grabbed the third and fifth spots, respectively. Darren Till’s walkout at UFC Liverpool was the runner-up.
Jamahal Hill’s Opponent Shares Mentality Before Their Matchup in Baku
Jamahal Hill and Khalil Rountree Jr. were scheduled to fight at UFC 313 in 2024, but it didn’t materialize. They were scheduled to headline the upcoming UFC Kansas City fight night event, but Hill’s injury forced the postponement to UFC Baku in June.
Rountree Jr. recently shared that he is taking the fight against Hill as seriously as when he fought Alex Pereira for the UFC title at UFC 307 on his recent appearance on the “MMA Today” podcast.
“All I can do is just be my best, and I have done a lot of preparation. I’ve learned a lot from the Alex fight. I had time off to rest and recover and get back into a healthy mindset and many different things, you know. And just to learn from that fight and to make some adjustments,” Rountree Jr. said.
“And now I’m just going to come in as prepared as I was for the Alex fight and take it from there, because I want to continue to strive to become the champion,” he continued.
As for his opponent Hill, Rountree Jr. isn’t too bothered. The former one-time title challenger is only interested in entertaining the fans, similar to when he fought Pereira at UFC 307. Though he lost to “Poatan” via a fourth-round knockout, Rountree Jr. won admiration from the UFC brass and fans for the blood-and-guts war.
