The UFC’s latest main roster event was UFC 315, a pay-per-view (PPV) event that took place May 10, 2025, at the Bell Centre in Montreal. The card was headlined by a pair of world title fights.
After the event, the UFC’s official rankings saw several shake-ups. That includes Jack Della Maddalena breaking into the men’s pound-for-pound list, a lightweight contender dropping out, and more moves across divisions.
UFC 315 Rankings Update – Jack Della Maddalena Enters Pound-for-Pound Ranks, Jose Aldo Departs
The UFC 315 main event saw Della Maddalena beat Belal Muhammad by unanimous decision to win the UFC welterweight title. As reported by John Morgan, the win helped Della Maddalena debut at No. 9 in the men’s pound-for-pound rankings.
Muhammad, who was the reigning welterweight champ, now holds the No. 1 contender spot in the division. He also dropped six spots in the pound-for-pound list and sits at No. 13.
Because of Della Maddalena’s entry, lightweight contender Arman Tsarukyan fell out of the pound-for-pound rankings. Meanwhile, UFC lightweight champ Islam Makhachev still holds the top spot in the men’s pound-for-pound rankings.

In the co-main event, UFC women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko defeated Manon Fiorot by unanimous decision to retain her title. Shevchenko remains the No. 1-ranked women’s pound-for-pound fighter.
Two other flyweights also made moves. Natalia Silva, who beat former champ Alexa Grasso at UFC 315, is now the top contender at 125 pounds. She also jumped five spots to No. 8 on the women’s pound-for-pound list.
Jasmine Jasudavicius, who submitted former strawweight champ Jessica Andrade in their flyweight matchup, moved up three spots and now ranks No. 6 in the women’s flyweight division.

One more standout fight was a featherweight clash between Aiemann Zahabi and MMA legend Jose Aldo. It was originally booked at bantamweight but was shifted to featherweight due to reports of Aldo struggling with the weight cut. During the fight, Aldo nearly finished Zahabi, but Zahabi rallied and won a unanimous decision.
Afterward, Aldo announced his retirement from MMA.
Zahabi reportedly moved up four spots to No. 11 in the bantamweight rankings. Aldo has been removed from that list, and Vinicius Oliveira has entered the rankings at No. 15.
