Tom Aspinall’s Duck-Themed Posts From a Shooting Club Have Fans in Splits

UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion Tom Aspinall’s latest duck-themed Instagram post, which appeared to be directed at Jon Jones for allegedly ducking a title unification bout, has sparked significant reactions from fans.

Aspinall has been demanding a Heavyweight Title unification bout ever since Jones’ first title defense against former two-time Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic at UFC 309, where “Bones” delivered a dominant performance and secured a third-round knockout victory.

Jones has shown little to no interest in the matchup and has demanded adequate compensation to face Aspinall. It was recently reported that he would need at least six months of training camp to prepare for the Brit once the fight is booked.

Aspinall, who has been waiting a long time for a fight to be booked against Jones, has repeatedly mocked him for allegedly ducking the bout. In a recent Instagram post, the interim champion shared several photos of himself, including one where he’s holding a shotgun and dressed in full shooting gear at the Manchester Clay Shooting Club. He captioned the post, “Lovely day for it. Hunting season has begun.”

But what really caught fans’ attention was a clever detail in the background, a duck with Jones’ face edited onto it. The humorous jab sparked reactions from several MMA enthusiasts who quickly flocked to the comment section. One fan pointed out the subtle dig, writing, “Who noticed that Jones duck in the background?”

Another fan urged Aspinall to speak directly with UFC CEO Dana White to get the fight booked, while also accusing Jones of ducking and calling for him to be stripped of the title, writing, “Tom go talk that man Dana. Do something man. They are stealing your time and belt. I was loving Jon but i admit that he is ducking anymore. He should leave the belt asap.”

One Instagram user quipped, “What is the target this time, Tom? Is it the duck that claims to be a goat?” Another commented, “Jon has way more guns and Bigger guns than you.”

One MMA enthusiast added, “Last Option to convince Dana White.” Another fan wrote, “New style of training before the John Jons fight?”

Aspinall defended his interim title against Curtis Blaydes at UFC 304, delivering an impressive performance and securing a first-round knockout victory to retain the belt. He has been out of action since then, waiting for a Heavyweight Title unification bout with Jones.

Recently, rumors have surfaced on social media suggesting that Aspinall may defend his interim title against former title challenger Ciryl Gane.
