American comedian Theo Von is known to be an MMA fan who has attended multiple UFC events in the past. The promotion’s latest main roster event was the UFC 315 pay-per-view (PPV), which transpired at the Bell Center in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, on May 10, 2025.
The event was headlined by a UFC welterweight title showdown between Belal Muhammad and Jack Della Maddalena. In its aftermath, Von notably expressed his support for Muhammad.

Belal Muhammad entered UFC 315 as the UFC welterweight kingpin and put his title on the line against Australia’s Jack Della Maddalena. Their matchup capped off a card that featured several thrilling fights. It witnessed Della Maddalena and Muhammad put on an extraordinary display of skill and will in a grueling five-round war.
In the end, Della Maddalena’s technical striking skills and disciplined defensive grappling helped him outpoint his foe. The judges awarded him the unanimous decision victory, and he thereby dethroned Muhammad to become the new UFC Welterweight Champion.
Following the fight, certain sections of the combat sports community criticized Muhammad for his performance, with some even noting that he lost his title in his very first attempt at defending it. He had captured the title in his previous fight, outpointing Leon Edwards in a rematch in 2024.
Taking to X, MMA and UFC fan Theo Von weighed in with his support for Muhammad after his UFC 315 fight. Suggesting that the Chicago-born fighter deserved respect, Von tweeted a six-word reaction, “Put some respeck on his name! @bullyb170 #ufc315.”

Moreover, UFC Lightweight Champion Islam Makhachev has indicated that he would be moving up in weight to fight Della Maddalena for the welterweight title. Prior to UFC 315, the belief was that; since Makhachev and Muhammad had extensively worked together as training partners, they were unlikely to face one another. However, since the welterweight belt is now with “JDM,” Makhachev is likely to head up in weight and fight him for the belt.
During his post-fight Octagon interview, Della Maddalena asserted that he’d be open to defending his title against the Dagestani fighter and would like to avenge fellow Australian Alexander Volkanovski’s defeats to Makhachev.
On the other hand, Muhammad signaled that he’ll make a triumphant comeback after his title defeat. In posts on Instagram and X, Muhammad wrote, “Allahs plan is the best plan Alhamdulillah for everything. Thank you to all my supporters I been here before and I’ll be back”
The UFC 315’s headliner saw Della Maddalena extend his win streak to 18, whereas Muhammad suffered his first defeat since being outpointed by Geoff Neal in Jan. 2019.
