Fiorot is gearing up for her UFC Flyweight title fight against Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 315. The bout will serve as the co-main event and is scheduled to take place at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, on May 10.

Ahead of the highly anticipated title fight, Fiorot was seen training with UFC interviewer Nina-Marie Daniele. In a lighthearted moment, the two played a game of rock-paper-scissors with a twist: the loser would take a body kick. Daniele lost and took a stomach shot from “The Beast.”

Valentina Shevchenko Slams Fiorot for Disrespect and Trash Talk Ahead of UFC 315

Speaking to Ariel Helwani, Shevchenko openly criticized Fiorot’s behavior and questioned her character. Responding to Fiorot’s verbal jabs, the reigning champion made it clear that she believes respect is a cornerstone of MMA, something she feels “The Beast” lacks.

“Throwing these dirty tweets, if she’s really thinking it’s going to provoke someone for the actions, I think she’s mistaken. She’s claiming to be a karate person about all the respect, but acting like a savage person. It’s funny. It’s silly. I would understand when a person already did something – defend belts, being a champion – but without doing a thing, starting to go around and insult everyone, it’s now how these things work.”

Shevchenko suggested that Fiorot may be taking advice from outside influences, possibly as part of a planned strategy to stir up trash talk leading into the fight.

“Maybe she wanted some attention, or maybe someone gave advice to her, some bright mind decided to come up with this strategy, but I don’t think that is a smart thing. Me, especially, being a martial artist all my life – martial arts, it’s all about respect. In general, our life, it’s all about respect… Karate being martial arts with a huge story teaching all of these things, but I guess it’s teaching everyone except Manon, except their gym.”

Fiorot is undefeated in the UFC and is gearing up to claim the belt. It will be interesting to see who walks away with the championship on May 10.
