The Dana White’s Contender Series keeps bringing in top-level talent, and one of the newest names, Mansur Abdul-Malik, is making waves in the UFC’s middleweight division with an unbeaten record and a knack for finishing fights. The fighter’s raw power and technical skill make him a must-watch in the octagon.

Mansur Abdul-Malik: Statistics and Records

Yasin Mansur Ibn Abdul-Malik was born on Oct. 7, 1997, making him 27 years old. He has no nickname. The fighter is 6 feet 1 inch (185.4 cm) tall, a decent height for his division. His last recorded weigh-in was 186 pounds (84 kg), which aligns with the UFC middleweight limit.

Abdul-Malik has a reach of 79.50 inches (201 cm), which is one big reason for his knockout-heavy record, as it gives him an advantage in striking exchanges. His leg reach is 43 inches (109.2 cm), which complements his orthodox stance.

Abdul-Malik holds an undefeated pro MMA record of eight wins and no losses, as of now. He was 5-0 when he entered DWCS Season 8 in 2024. He knocked out Wes Schultz in round two via ground-and-pound elbow attacks and earned his UFC contract. Since then, he has fought two fights in the promotion and finished all of them. He has earned one Performance of the Night bonus for his TKO debut against Dusko Todorovic, finishing him via Muay Thai knee in round one.

Mansur Abdul-Malik: Knockouts, Submissions, and More

Abdul-Malik fights out of Xtreme Couture gym in Las Vegas, which former UFC champion Randy Couture founded. He started training at six years old because he wanted to be a Ninja Turtle. He is a former D-1 wrestler and wrestled for two years while studying at the University of Maryland.

Abdul-Malik has shown exceptional knockout power throughout his career. Seven of his eight wins came via knockouts, and only one came via submission. According to the UFC’s official stats and records, the American fighter has a striking accuracy of 54% and a takedown accuracy of 33%.

Although he is comfortable both standing and on the ground, Abdul-Malik prefers to rely on his aggressive striking and strong finishing instincts. He lands 5.29 significant strikes per minute and only 0.75 takedowns per 15 minutes. However, he has a higher takedown defense average (82%) than significant striking defense (49%).

Abdul-Malik prefers ground-and-pound, as he lands 55% of his strikes in the ground position, whereas 32% and 13% are in standing and clinch, respectively. His average fight lasts around 6 minutes and 41 seconds, which is slightly more than a round. No wonder he has six first-round finishes so far. At this pace, it won’t be surprising to see him getting into the rankings pretty soon.
