Joe Rogan has issued a warning regarding potentially “horrific” outcomes of the United States of America’s current immigration policy. Rogan suggested that the previous U.S. regime’s approach toward immigration was wrong, but the current regime’s policy could prove to be an overcorrection and end up being wrong in its own way.
Joe Rogan Warns Current U.S. Regime About Its Immigration Policy
On episode #2306 of “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast this month (April 2025), Rogan hosted fellow American stand-up comedian Deric Poston. The duo discussed various topics, including their nation’s current immigration policy.
The MMA personality alluded to the current Donald Trump-helmed administration’s reported practice of shifting various illegal immigrants, who are to be deported, to prison in El Salvador. Indicating that some of the accused illegal immigrants aren’t hardened criminals, Rogan warned that this practice of locking them up with dangerous criminals in the El Salvador prison system could severely endanger them.
Rogan stated, “Then there’s also legitimate arguments on the other side. Like, the other side is making a very legitimate argument about the right to due process if you get processed and shipped out of the country and put in a prison in El Salvador … Was it Benjamin Franklin’s quote about innocent? That it’s better to allow 10 guilty people to go free than one innocent person to be arrested. I’m on that side of things.”
“I think due process exists for a reason, and the reason is it is horrific for someone to be accused for something they didn’t do, be imprisoned for crimes they didn’t commit, and then live in a cell, live in a cage with a bunch of [actual criminals],” he continued.
“That [Benjamin Franklin’s quote] is wisdom that has survived hundreds of years. It’s incredibly accurate, and it is the foundation of freedom.” Rogan further warned, “Like, we have to make sure that these people are actually guilty, otherwise we become monsters. You can’t like — what is that? When you fight monsters, be careful you don’t become one. Yeah. That’s very important,” Rogan added.
Joe Rogan alluded to America’s immigration policy under the Democratic Party and the Republican Party’s regimes, respectively, over the years. The UFC commentator indicated that the U.S. administration helmed by the Democratic Party’s Joe Biden, who served as president from Jan. 2021 to Jan. 2025, didn’t adopt a strict enough immigration policy and failed to prosecute and deport illegal immigrants who committed crimes.
Rogan also addressed the Republican Party’s Donald Trump-helmed U.S. regime, which officially came to power in Jan. 2025. He implied that U.S. President Trump and his administration were extensively cracking down on illegal immigrants with a strict immigration policy. Nevertheless, as noted, he has warned that the government needs to ensure that they don’t adopt extreme punitive measures and hurt innocent people.
