Jake Paul’s Next Boxing Fight Announced: Date, Opponent, Venue, and More

Jake Paul is set to return to the boxing ring following his victory over boxing legend Mike Tyson in what was arguably the most controversial matchup to date — due to the 31-year age difference between them — in November of last year.

Paul, known for drawing attention with his choice of opponents, is now scheduled to fight a former world champion.

Who Is Jake Paul’s Next Challenge?

Boxing fans have been anticipating Paul’s next challenge for months, and the wait is finally over. Most Valuable Promotions took to X to announce that “The Problem Child” will return to the ring this summer.

Paul is set to face former world champion Julio César Chávez Jr. in the main event at the Honda Center in Anaheim on June 28.

In the co-main event, Gilberto Ramírez will take on Yuniel Dorticos in a unification bout for the WBA/WBO Cruiserweight Championship.

Paul Vows To Defeat Julio César Chávez Jr.

Following the official fight announcement by Most Valuable Promotions, Paul took to X to share his excitement for the upcoming bout.

The Problem Child praised the challenge that Chávez brings to the ring, highlighting the former champion’s impressive career achievements.

Paul also reflected on his own journey in boxing, writing: “Five years ago, I stepped into the ring for my pro debut after 1 amateur fight, and every fight since has been a step towards becoming world champion. I just defeated the baddest man on the planet and broke multiple records, and now I’m going against a former world champion with 54 wins who Canelo [Álvarez] could barely beat.”

The YouTuber-turned-boxer also vowed to hand a defeat to Chávez Jr.

“Chávez Jr. is Mexican, but I, El Gallo De Dorado, mexi-CAN knock him tf out. On Saturday, June 28, live on DAZN pay-per-view, I will defeat Julio and make Chávez Sr. proud in ways Jr. never has. Viva La Puerto Rico.”

Paul is entering the bout with high confidence, riding a five-fight winning streak and holding an overall career record of 11 wins and just one loss, which came against Tommy Fury in February 2023. In that back-and-forth battle, he lost via split decision.

Meanwhile, Chávez could pose a real threat to Paul compared to his previous opponents. The former WBC Middleweight Champion has 62 fights of experience and has had his hand raised 54 times.

In his most recent clash against Uriah Hall in July of last year, Chávez delivered a strong performance, securing a unanimous decision victory. He is currently riding a two-fight winning streak.
