Jack Della Maddalena beat Belal Muhammad by unanimous decision to become the new UFC welterweight champion in the main event of UFC 315 on May 10, 2025.
After the win, a video clip featuring the Australian fighter and UFC personality Nina-Marie Daniele grabbed fans’ attention online.
Jack Della Maddalena Roasted Nina-Marie Daniele With a Concise Question
Della Maddalena recently joined Nina-Marie Daniele, a social media influencer and MMA personality, for an interview. Daniele brought up Muhammad’s pre-fight trash talk when Della Maddalena compared his boxing to that of Canelo Alvarez.
Referencing it, Daniele told Della Maddalena, “You are known for being one of the best strikers in your division. Your boxing is incredible. But Belal has ‘Canelo Hands’ … What do you do with ‘Canelo Hands’?” Della Maddalena fired back with a nod to Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s 2013 decision win over Alvarez: “I’ll Floyd Mayweather his a**.”
Later in the interview, Daniele asked which three fighters he’d want by his side in an alien invasion. He picked UFC heavyweight Tai Tuivasa, lightweight Paddy Pimblett, and flyweight Steve Erceg.
When asked if he had any pets, Della Maddalena said he owns a bulldog named Stormy. Asked what Stormy would say if she could talk, he joked she’d probably just ask for food.
Daniele then said she has five animals and thinks they’d have a lot to say about her. Della Maddalena responded with a quick jab: “Are they all cats?”
Laughter followed, and Daniele asked if he was calling her a “cat lady.” He said, “Yeah.” She confirmed: “Yes. They’re all cats.”
Jack Della Maddalena Responded With an Eerie Warning to Islam Makhachev’s Call-Out
Della Maddalena has drawn praise for his respectful attitude and sense of humor, but he’s also gained attention for how he handles high-stakes challenges, like a possible clash with one of the UFC’s best.
UFC lightweight champ Islam Makhachev, who sits atop the men’s pound-for-pound list, is rumored to be moving up to welterweight. He may face Della Maddalena next. Makhachev recently tweeted that “JDM” isn’t on the level of fellow Aussie and UFC featherweight champ Alexander Volkanovski, whom Makhachev has beaten twice.
He also warned he’s coming to take the welterweight belt. At the UFC 315 post-fight press conference, Della Maddalena was asked about Makhachev’s comments. His response was short but ominous: “Come get it.”
Della Maddalena isn’t just enjoying his title win — he’s embracing the spotlight. With big names calling him out, his rise could turn into something even bigger.
