Over the years, Jake Paul has established himself to be a big name in the world of combat sports. His social media following, as well as his antics while promoting a fight, have played a role in him attaining this position.
Paul has been a part of 12 professional boxing bouts and has emerged victorious in 11 of them. During his professional career, “The Problem Child” has defeated several big MMA names in the boxing ring like Tyron Woodley, Anderson Silva, Nate Diaz, and Mike Perry.
Jake Paul Shares His Mount Rushmore of Boxing
Paul runs a fight promotion called “Most Valuable Promotions,” which recently uploaded a post on social media that has caused quite a stir among boxing fans. The post aimed to talk about the Mount Rushmore of the boxing world.
But what stood out to many was that Paul had included himself in the Mount Rushmore, along with the likes of boxing legends like Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali, and Floyd Mayweather.
The post caught the attention of many boxing fans, who reacted to it in the comments section.
One fan poked fun at the 28-year-old, saying, “April Fool’s was 18 days ago tho.”
Another person called the list “a f***ing joke.”
One individual asked for Paul to be replaced with Canelo Alvarez on the Mount Rushmore: “Remove Jake Paul and add Canelo to the [Mount Rushmore].”
Another said it should be Roberto Durán in place of Paul.
One other user was not impressed by the post, calling it “disrespectful.”
Meanwhile, another person issued a detailed response, saying that although Paul did not belong on the Mount Rushmore, he had contributed done good work in the sport.
“I think he’s good for the sport. He takes training seriously. As much as people dog him, his fights are challenging compared to most amateur no-names. Eyes drawn for some. Especially within the amateur oversight that he gets flagged for. Not Mount Rushmore, but still solid for early.”
Paul was last seen in action in November 2024 when he faced off against Tyson in an eight-round professional boxing bout. The fight was held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and broadcast live around the world on Netflix.
The fight announcement resulted in Paul receiving backlash due to the huge age difference, as Tyson was 58 years old at the time of the fight. The bout was a one-sided affair that ended with “The Problem Child” taking home the unanimous decision victory.
